Your correct. ID does nothing for ones salvation but, at least it points in that direction. The first step is making a deist of someone and ID does very well at this. Did everything come from nothing or was an intelligent designer behind it all? Once this is shown, it can then be shown that this creator is knowable. Baby steps if you will

I don't see a conflict between Darwin's Origin of Species and relgion. The process of evolution is so elegant and self adapting so who is to say that's not how a deity might really set things up rather than having to constantly say "let there be giraffes" or whatever.
@herbbutterworth19211 күн бұрын
The problem with this is that it goes against what is taught in Genesis. This is not a denial of scientific discovery. We acknowledge that life is able to adapt to changing environments but one species evolving into a new species is not shown. I believe the evidence shown in irreducible complexity shows the impossibility of this.

@@CrowdJusticeUS In Genesis 1 we read that God creates "after their own kind" (10 times that statement appears) which appears to contradict macroevolution. Thank you for sharing your comments. I didn't make these videos quite as long and expansive as I should have.

I found this video very helpful. Doesn’t it seem that if we don’t take Genesis 1-11 as literal history, we are free to interpret all of scripture in any way in which we like? Most importantly, as we look at the evidence throughout the world, it affirms what scripture tells us . We have no sound reason to reject it. Thank you for doing this and I look forward to more.

Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today. The earth is not 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day has not ended. Thus day 7 is a long time span, thus day 1 to 6 must be a long time span. Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is: Sunrise to sunset Sunset to next sunset Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ). We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast. Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains". The events of day 6 can not have happened in 24 hours. Have you entered into the 7th as Hebrews 4:9-10 asks you to?

@@ChristopherLScott Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and SEAL UP THE BOOK, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. This is Daniel's sealed scroll, unsealed. Genesis 1 is Lucifer and the fallen angels making man in their image. Man is an idol, a trap for angels. (tares) Genesis 1 only uses the word ELOHIM. Genesis 2:7 the Lord God forms His representative in THEIR system. (wheat) Genesis 2:4 is where the word Lord God (YHWH ELOHIM) is found. Exodus 20:4 YHWH ELOHIM forbids idols and likeness (embodiment = human host body). Jesus called you a god/angel. John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? What law? Psalm 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods (H430); and all of you are children of the most High. 7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Strongs H430 Elohim = angels, gods (little g). Right there, he called you a god (angel) that shall die like man, and fall. A fallen angel. Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. No mention of unrepentant man in Matthew 25:41. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

LOL. Most people would NOT like Gen. 1:1- if it was translated LITERALLY ( as the Hebrew reads). Question: -Where can I find a commentary that explains the historical background of the events of the Bible? -I know it can be an endless topic, but............ is there a book that tell that a Greek word means ( even painting a picture of the action)? ( Too often I find that most lexicons are just listing words that seem to not always seem to go together.) -Is it possible to find a Bible commentary that does not have a CLEAR bias?
@ChristopherLScott6 ай бұрын
For Greek words, I encourage you to look for AT Robertson's "Word Pictures of the New Testament" and MR Vincent's "Word Studies of the NT." I think both of those will provide what you are looking for. In my personal opinion, I find that the New American Standard Bible is free of bias since it is published by a "foundation" and not a "book publisher." Hope that helps.

When I went to Bible college NASB Ryrie as well as Halley’s were required for Bible lit. I have used NASB for 45 years but love my Thompson Chain reference. I appreciated hearing your comments regarding comparing what is spent on a phone without much thought vs what is spent on a leather Bible as a couple days I hoped to buy a new leather Bible and was feeling slightly queasy spending $100.00 but considering it’s true value compared to a phone, I feel more at peace. Thank you.
