Norse religion was harsh. You only got to Valhalla if you died well in battle. Any other death was a sentence to Hel's kingdom. And then even those who go to Valhalla die brutally at the end of the world with the other gods at Ragnarok. With that in mind I can understand why Christianity was so appealing. A warrior religion which was as courageous in life but less unforgiving in death.

It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees. Real warriors fight for those who can't fight for themselves. We know what we stand to lose if we fail. We know what's behind us so we face the demons so they don't have to.
