Flawed and beautiful. God do I miss these troubled souls. John had an exorcism and was blunt and honest about his treatment of others. He desperately wanted to be a better person. These days they hide behind 12 step programs and AI apologies. Lennon was honest. The first and the last male in the entertainment industry to say “judge me !! I’m ready to change “

John said pretty much what George would say about them reuniting “If we’re ever going to do it we’ve got to really want to do it” that’s really what it all came down to it didn’t matter if the fans wanted them to they would be the ones that would want to do it

It’s so frustrating that they haven’t remastered some of this old footage of the Roth years. Could you imagine if they put out a set like the Led Zeppelin How The West Was Won of Van Halen shows on DVD?

1976 might have been the closest John, Paul, George, and Ringo came to a Beatles reunion until John's death in 1980. A new Beatles comp album was released "Rock and Roll music" which attracted a lot of new fans also Paul and Wings tour of the USA had rumours John might get on stage with Paul which didn't eventuate. Ringos "Rotogravure" album featured one song each from John, Paul, and George but the four were never in the studio at the same time. And there was the famous claim by John that he and Paul nearly appeared on "The Saturday night live" programme. But as we all know the fab four never reunited that year and with Johns semi-retirement until 1980 and death that was really the end of any reunions.

One of the ABBA men said that they (ABBA) could reunite only if their reunion were the only thing that could prevent World War III. This would have probably worked with the Beatles, too. No doubt John would have persuaded the other three to give peace a chance.

Without a doubt John's best interview. The way he doesn't even let Bob ask the question, he asks it himself. Lennon did the interview for a packet of chocolate Bath Oliver biscuits because the BBC's standard fee of £15.00 was irrelevant.

He accidently change the rock in just performing that show. He is the reason why i play guitar but i'm not a big fan of Van Halen. He is the greatest guitarist to live and die in the world.

My ex-girlfriend told me ( in 1988 ) that her record producing uncle almost reunited the Beatles. They would play an outdoor gig sometime in 1978, and he had three out of four Beatles signatures to agree to play, but apparently Paul had told him to f*** off over the phone because he was so successful with Wings at the time.. It's true that he was indeed a record producer ( 'Wasn't That a Party' and 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer' ), but whether or not the story she told me was true or not, I'm still not sure.

Cant believe i havent seen this footage before. Priceless. There may be people that play faster, and have more technical proficiency, but as far as musicality, rythem, lead, tone and innovation, Eddie easily gets my vote for greatest guitarist ever. The world was a better place with him in it. Nuno is the only one who comes close

he would become a father later that year, it’s nice to see how he began to settle down in 1975, and he would’ve been one artists of the 80s and beyond after his hiatus

Just like Michael Jackson had to “feel” the beat, the music, to move him to do the dance moves he did, Eddie seemed to be the same with the guitar…The sound and groove had to be just so to “move” him to play as he did

The Beatles, when interviewed together in the early days, always gave flippant and witty answers. I think that they felt that they needed to be entertaining even when they weren't playing. Individually though, they ALWAYS seemed very thoughtful and honest, with always lots of interesting insight. John was a very interesting guy and a great interview. The world sure is a poorer place with no Beatles anymore.

I remember hearing this in the Minions movie, after finding out I repeatedly watched videos like this of Edward's work, def an amazing guitarist. He treated it like a toy and since he wanted to be a drummer, he acted like a drummer with those quick notes. Too bad he smoked and got lung cancer which led to his sad passing. R. I. P Eddie Van Halen! Also I know video technology was horrible and VHS & Betamax were new and all, but how was the perfectly clean guitar audio rec? Was the camera connected to a speaker, or did people just not cheer and clap during the solo? Looks like this was filmed either for TV, or Home Video Footage

It was moat likely filmed using VHS or Betamax, there aren't a lot of videos aside from these since those cameras were heavy in order to fix the tapes, and they were expensive, this looks to be a live taping though for TV!

@@Laserashton What I find odd about it is while EvH is playing there's little if any other sound from other sources. It's just guitar, little or no crowd, or anything else. I don't even think that can be explained as the sound coming from the sound mixing board.

@@janezimmerman7987 There was probably a cable from the guitar to the camera, but sometimes there are quiet audiences in other countries, so who knows
