Does anyone know what size hardware replaces the rivets?

I don't remember. You may be better off going back with rivets. The bolts loosen over time, causing wear on the door handle.

Thank you for keeping it simple. I was able to replace it with no problems. I bought the metal handles and a rivet gun. Do you have a video for the tailgate replacement? Appreciate your video. Well done!

I didn't video the tailgate, but it was easier than the door handle.

hello, on your other video about the washing machine where the air line became removed '' Removing the front panel on a top load Hotpoint washer '' the place where it went i think it is called a volume pressure switch . the air gets compressed to the selector load size [ small, medium, large, extra large, super ] to stop the flow of water going into the washer drum . i would have left a comment on that video, but the comment section was turned off. by the way . . . good find and excellent self fix .

Bravo! This was the only video I found that matches my vehicle setup which is a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge manual. As per your advice, I may use a rivet gun. Much thanks!

Hope it helps. The problem with the bolts is that they vibrate loose and cause the handles to break a lot sooner if you don't tighten periodically.

Can you tell me where you got the little plastic part that's on the end of the metal hook?

I ordered the parts online. I got a set that had both door handles and the tail gate latch. I believe every thing was in the kit.

Looks like it's been replaced once already. Usually held in with rivets. Ford failed with these ABS handles, replaced the tailgate handle twice already.

Yes. Third time I've replaced the driver's side handle. Replaced the tailgate latch once. I believe if I had used rivets instead of bolts, the handles would last longer.

@@sarastamps1 ::::I don't think it matters rivets or bolts, they always break at the thinnest part of the lever.. If Ford still used metal they would outlast the truck. Waiting on the levers going to do the drivers door as well, i can see the passenger side that i open to reach over and open the driver door giving up the ghost in the middle of nowhere and I would be screwed.
