This is one of my favorite things to eat! My best friend makes the best shrimp and grits...much better than mine! My grandmother and aunt's made this all the time. I guess I'm really a true southerner because I love this so much. I enjoyed seeing you make it today...YUM!🦐

So sorry for your loss. I lost my mom recently too, after years caring for her and 16 months in hospice. The probate stuff is daunting! Thank you for sharing your play session. I need some play time too and your ideas are inspiring.

@@kimbokat4887 I am so sorry for your loss. The hardest thing is to lose your Mom. That in itself is awful. Dealing with the probate stuff is very daunting. I wish nobody EVER had to go through that! I hope you get some good play time, and I pray it's healing for you. Big hugs

No! You are called LaLa too! Its my grandma name from my Alabama gkids (The Florida ones call me Grandma...go figure.) And the Cicada wings! I kept waiting for the "hoard" to hit here, but they never did, so I happily settled for the "Normal Summer Cicada sound" from my backyard trees. You are so clever. OK, I promise I'll try to refrain from hogging the comments!

First let me offer condolences for the loss in your family. I know what you are going through. My brother passed away the end of May after being in my home on Hospice for about two months. There is a lot to tend to afterwards. But moving on. I really enjoy your videos and your being a southern girl like me, with your soft accent, makes it especially enjoyable. I had to write you when you pulled out those candy wrappers because I have a stash of those same ones and just used them in Margarete Millers Collage Challenge 24! I spent most of yesterday in my craft room sorting and throwing out, which was not my plan. So today, I'm just going to play! Thank you for the reminder.

I am so sorry for your loss! I lost my mom fifty years ago this past January. She was fifty and I was fifteen. It hurts and will always hurt and you will miss her. It will take you time to get over her not being there for you to care for. It did us when my MIL passed away in 1990. Take care of yourself. Sending hugs your way.

Thank you so much! I understand loosing your Mom at a young age. My Mom passed away when I was 25. It is definitely taking time to get used to not taking care of my MIL. The house is so quiet now and we are having to adjust our schedules too. Sometimes, we wander around trying to figure out what we SHOULD be doing, because the norm for us has been taking care of her and now, we have a lot of time on our hands lol. @@shawcraft1 I can relate to that also. I helped take care of my MIL for several years and after she passed way even with two kids and going to college, I felt so lost. I didn’t more what to do with myself.

@@sandiecole3274 thank you! I had them done this color for Mom's funeral service because green is the color for life, so I did it as a celebration of her life. I really like the color too. I love how these pages turned out. I'm excited to finish this journal and start another!

Hey Diane, just checking in on your channel now that we got our power back on. We were out for 4 days. The hurricane went right over our house, it was scary. I feel it's a relationship not religion with our Heavenly Father. There is a lot to learn and the Bible is simple enough for a child yet so deep it takes more than a lifetime to exhaust what's written in the scriptures. I look forward to you sharing what you are led to. God is good. All the time.

Oh! Now see, I love the peel ... that's why I have to make sure it's clean. I don't enjoy just the "mushiness" that's inside the apple so the peel adds just enough substance to it to counter balance it

I completely agree! I have a big pan and I always wash all of my fruits and vegetables. I put baking soda and sometimes a little bit of vinegar in the pan too. I let them soak for a few minutes then rinse them thoroughly before I put them out on cookie sheets to dry on my kitchen counters.🥦🍎

Oh man! Yes! It's been so hot lately that I've just been going out in the very early morning, or the very late evening. And I can't stay out very long because it just completely drains me. Hoping we can get some good rain soon ... but there isn't any in the near forecast
