Hi Jean, I would love to know yours. Mine feels like such a silly reason that I am embarassed to say it. 🤭

@@CraftyTatiOfficial I was always a tomboy. When I was going into the 2nd grade we moved into a new house. My mama put pink wallpaper in my bedroom. I had to keep it perfectly clean and wasn't allowed to play in it. I hated it with every fiber of my soul!! My playroom was in the unfinished basement. It was a disaster but I loved it. I have avoided anything pink for my 67 years.
@CraftyTatiOfficial2 күн бұрын
Jean, our traumas are quite similar. I was also a tomboy. One day I went to class and when I came back my mom said she had a surprise for me. Suddenly everything in my bedroom was pink! Curtains, small trinkets, bed linen and I was supposed to keep it always neat and tidy. I still feel guilty because my mom was so happy, excited and proud of her work and I couldn't breathe when I saw it. 🫣 We're pink trauma sisters. 😂

@@CraftyTatiOfficial It may seem trivial to some because it's difficult to explain how horrific it was to feel you were being molded into a little lady when what you really wanted was to be able to make exploding noises as good as boys could.

What is a dotted plate. I looked at Altenew but found nothing by that name. Great video, by the way. I love vellum so any new ideas you can count me in
@CraftyTatiOfficial2 күн бұрын
Hi Monica, thank you for your encouraging words. 💕 I call dotted plates the background plates that don't cut or emboss, but add pierced patterns to your panel. Although some of them will cut your panel to 5.5 by 4 1/4 inches. The Altenew ones are called Cover Dies and they have beautiful patterns. The one I used on this video is called Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die. I have a couple more videos on vellum cards. Vellum is my favourite. 😁 I believe I have a vellum playlist already, if you want to check out more.

Can you explain why you didn't just cut out the areas with a scissor the regular way; what's the purpose of using both tips to cut the areas? Also I would be interested to see how you use those tools from your home country, I've never seen them before.
@CraftyTatiOfficial7 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching and for your question. 💕 You could cut it the regular way, but it would give you a straight cut. If you cut it my overcomplicated way 😂 then you get a texture, a bit like a perforated area. That's all. I think it looks cute. When you use it on 4 dots arranged as a square, for example, after you use the scissors it looks like a 4-point star or 4-petal flower. I have a couple more videos using these techniques in vellum. You might be able to see it better. I will try to make a video showing the other tools in the future. ☺️

@@CraftyTatiOfficial The card was made using what I know today to be the "Swiss dots" embossing folder on the velum, the card base was white and the cross was made with a fancy die, embellished with approximately 3 or more little pearls in row on the right-hand side. I'm sorry I cannot give you more detail but I will ask my daughter if she still has the card in the memory box perhaps - if so, she can send me a picture which I will send to you.
