Love their movies, true masters of their art, and none of the bombast so common in US movies. Must have watched Fargo at least 4 times......so beautifully droll.

Best Bond is Connery. Worst Bond ( by a landslide ) is Daniel Craig. Shave off Craig's hair and he'd be a dead ringer for the late Angus Scrimm aka 'The Tall Man' in the 'Phantasm' horror movies.

No doubt, DA is a highly talented and hardworking director. I would not say he is a great director, though. The films are often revamps of the same theme of same destructible for a an illusion entity like addiction or perfection. There is no humor. His films are cold and overly cerebral. There is no heart. The characters are easily expendable to serve his vision and I am glad not to have ever worked with him nor be his partner. There is a lack of humanity and after all this hard work, one is left feeling exhausted and empty. These types of directors are a dime a dozen. This does not mean he should whitewash or sugarcoat his scripts but he recently makes tragic films and is a one trick pony. The closest he gets to humor is irony and it is a shame he does not open up his vision and have a more well rounded oeuvre. He falls very short of PTA, Wes Anderson or even Scorsese who manages to inject humor and levity within his social commentaries about some pretty dark characters. Put some love into it baby!

I’d drop Llewyn Davis and TMWWT out of the top 10 and swap them with Serious Man (grossly underrated here - top 5 for sure) and Arizona. Blood Simple and Lebowski are great films but I’d put Barton Fink over both. The top 2 and bottom 5 are clutch - no arguments there.

1) No Country for Old Men 2) The Big Lebowski 3) Barton Fink 4) Fargo 5) O Brother, Where Art Thou? 6) Raising Arizona 7) Inside Llewyn Davis 8) Blood Simple 9) The Man Who Wasn't There 10) A Serious Man 11) Miller's Crossing 12) True Grit 13) Hail, Caesar! 14) The Ballad of Buster Scruggs 15) The Hudsucker Proxy 16) Burn After Reading 17) Intolerable Cruelty 18) The Ladykillers

Solid list. Unfortunately, I haven't seen all of his films quite yet, but of the majority that I have, this is currently how I'd rank them: 8. The Killing 7. Paths of Glory 6. A Clockwork Orange 5. Full Metal Jacket 4. Eyes Wide Shut 3. The Shining 2. Dr. Strangelove, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying & Love the Bomb 1. 2001: A Space Odyssey And of course, I guarantee something will change the next time I think about it. Tbh, I could've easily put any one of the films from my top 3 into the top spot, and I love each of them. Although I haven't seen everything he has made, what I have seen are almost all among my favorite movies I've ever seen, and this is why Stanley Kubrick is easily in the running for my absolute favorite director. It may be cliche among movie lovers, but Kubrick is a common favorite for a dang good reason. The high regard to which he is held is completely deserved.

At least twelve of these films deserve to be in the top three. A quick glance at the comments will confirm this. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable to see someone else's perspective on a Coen film countdown.

Weird...for some reason i thought she directed Tank Girl... As for Strange Days: I don't think underrated is the appropriate term as it's actually very highly rated by most people who watched it. It just never managed to reach a larger audience

No Body Bags?!?!?!?!? That is definitely one of John Carpenters best films. Plus we don't have a lot of good anthology horror out there and Carpenters portrayal as the Coroner is up there with hosts such as the Crypt Keeper.

I liked 'Hudsucker Proxy' much more than reviewer. Especially the magical 'save' at the end and the music by Aram Khachaturian, my favorite composer. Actually, The Coen Brothers and their wonderful ACTORS have been a gift to CINEMA. THANKS for just putting this reminder together. The dude abides.

Thought Pi completely transcended question of budget, it all looked, seemed impressive, loved Requiem for a Dream, but thought the mixing of the plots and time periods in The Fountain really didn't work well, took away from each rather than improved each.
