Great homily, Fr.! I began fasting each Friday about a year or so ago. I have abstained from flesh meat on those Fridays, usually eating veggies only. I will do the bread and water fast on both Wed. and Fridays starting tomorrow.

Martha gets dumped on a lot. She believed Christ could raise her brother John 11:21-22 Martha therefore said to Jesus: Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. *But now also I know that whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.* She also professes the resurrection John 11:24 Martha saith to him: I know that he shall rise again, in the resurrection at the last day. To top it off she calls Our Lord, the Christ and Son of God John 11:27 She saith to him: Yea, Lord, I have believed that thou art Christ the Son of the living God, who art come into this world. Martha is legit. I bet her cooking was probably one of the reasons Our Lord kept returning to Lazarus's house.

Thank you, Fr. Mark. Even from heaven, you are telling me how it must be done. My 15yr old son has been having second thoughts of continuing with his 2nd year of confirmation. The instructor was telling us parents and students that we shouldn't force our kids to continue. So when my son told me that he wasn't feeling confirmation, that really broke my heart. So now I get to put my heart back to together and finish what we started.

I love Father Mark so much. His homilies are brilliant, he has a uniquely powerful way of reaching people, and I know he has impacted many thousands, including me. I wish I had known him, but our Almighty Father has called him home, and so we all must pray for him and remember we were so blessed to have had him for a while.
