Just bought this bike, its a good mid range bike dont you think? The wheels get bad press but i think they are as fast as most alu wheels dont u think?
@Thecyclingbusdriver
@Thecyclingbusdriver Жыл бұрын
I first thought they were ok, then after I got my new deep section wheels I realised they were a lot slower than carbon wheels

@@Thecyclingbusdriver sure, i can imagine carbon wheels are quicker, but would u say for alu wheels, the bontrager that come with the bike are good alu wheels?

Good review. Prob getting that same bike soon. I used to race on the road and these days competing on strava hilly segments. My old focus has had its day and so i will prob get this trek. Would u say its a mid range racing bike? Better than the specialized slr 6 sport which is lighter but less aero?
@Thecyclingbusdriver
@Thecyclingbusdriver Жыл бұрын
Hi unfortunately I've never riden the specialized slr 6 so can't really compare it, it is definitely a mid range racing bike, I have since put some deep section wheels on it, still great on the hills and extra fast on the flat.

@@Thecyclingbusdriver thanks for the reply. Given it is a costly bike the trek, you would think it would be less than 9kg. Do you still think at that weight it is a good climbing bike as it makes up for it on aero frame cut?
@Thecyclingbusdriver

With the wheel upgrade I've got it to 8 and a half, with the gearing and the frame it's self I would say it's a good climbing bike, it's a nice stiff frame, I have an old ribble to compare it to and it's a noticeable different in feel.

@@Thecyclingbusdriver thanks James. I am gonna buy it and stick some continental grand prix force and attack tyres on to speed it up despite not the lightest wheelset

@@Thecyclingbusdriver i was considering getting the orbea orca m30 i for 400 euros more than the Trek. With that orbea u get 105 electronic gears, need to make a decision. The Trek does look a nicer frame than the orbea even though mechanical

I would recommend the Blendr mount for the lights and computer. I have a Garmin and Ion headlight stacked on top of each other right in the middle of the stem. Super clean setup with nothing sticking out of the sides

The stack height to seat height on these trek bikes are insane. It's pretty low. Must be hard to bike fit inflexible cyclist.

Hello budy, how are you? I'm 1.77, do you know what my size would be on a bike like this? I ask because on the TREK website it says 56, the store I'm looking at said it would have to be 52, they even make bike fit there. I have a Scott spedster 20 disc in size 52 and it's a good bike for me. I'm not sure about this, if you can help me. I'm between 52 and 54.
@Thecyclingbusdriver
@Thecyclingbusdriver Жыл бұрын
Hi bud, your the same height as me, I was in between a medium and large 54/56, if you was to find a M/L frame that would be perfect, i only had the large frame available to buy so I just went for that, fits perfect 👌

Hi, yeah currently looking at changing the tyre's, like I said I'm looking at going tubless so I'm going to see what options are available, I've seen reviews about the stock Bontrager tyres saying there not the best and like yourself have found other brands a lot faster, hopefully soon I'll find out.
