Thank you so much for your review. We have just had one installed and found the manual that comes with it to be useless. Your advice on just using the side controls was good and so was your advice on the warranty requiring a qualified plumbers invoice. Please tell me…how does the seat get warm? Does it only get warm after sitting on it or can it be warmed ahead of sitting on the seat?

Hi! Do the blinds still work? Some recent reviews claim that they are not durable. Is the heat insulation decent?

Thanks for the video! After watching it, we decided on this model as well, made the same adjustments and it all turned out great! We wouldn't have considered it otherwise since Ikea doesn't advertise the product as adjustable to different window lengths. You rock!

i Really want to buy one of these. They have good reviews and Bunnings have a good warranty system , BUT do you think i can get any straight answers from Evekare support about weather it will fit my toilet. i Have sent heaps of photos and also held the template over the bowl with photos. All i get is non committal answers . If that's the pre sales support , i would hate to see the after sales support.

I had the same issue. The only way is the get a qualified plumber to check out if it will work in your toilet. It I also found that most plumbers were not sure of bidets. Fortunately I found a terrific plumber who was honest about not having done one before but was patient and smart enough to complete the installation. Good luck.

@@hm6954 I finally gave up on Evekare support. I went to Bunnings and purchased one with the idea being to just take it out of the box and sit it on top of my toilet and see if it will fit. I decided it would and arranged for a plumber to come and give me a quote. He came , he quoted a reasonable price and fitted it there and then. All done. Just getting used to it now. I would love to be able to turn the night light OFF. I would like to stress again the lack of support from Evekare.

@@davidyoung800 i tried contacting Evekare while in Sydney as they have a head office in Caringba. NOT REALLY. They could be just sourcing & import agents for Bunnings. I'll never buy their product again.

Some comments in the official installation video say the water pressure of the spray is too low, and the drying too hot. Perhaps the later model is better in this regard?

Thank you so much! We just bought these and had an uh oh, we can't modify them moment, but thanks to your video, this worked. $350 for 4 large windows vs $1800 for custom. People need to know they can do this. Also, next time, use a mitre saw and use green painter's tape all the way around the edge you're cutting, it slices through both the metal and the fabric smoothly every time with no fray (and much less effort).

Perhaps a daft question, but how much extension do you think you could achieve on the length? The non-blockout Hoppvalls are just not long enough for old, tall windows!
@DavidTasmania
@DavidTasmania 6 ай бұрын
The IKEA website says the length is 195 cm, we have extended ours to a little over 200cm. It could go more by unwinding the string in the pulley system, however it might not wind all the way back up. If you don't need to open the blind all the way, then it could work.

Thank you !!! Did you have to install the backflow prevention valve ??? I bought it but not yet installed and I was worried I may need to hire a specialist plumber to install this bidet
@DavidTasmania
@DavidTasmania 8 ай бұрын
No additional flow/check/backflow valves were required on our install. Keep in mind that if you do it yourself, the warranty may be harder to get as we needed to provide the plumber receipt for an older model (previous version) that the seat sensor stopped working.

I just purchased 5 of these in used mint condition from across the country measuring 100cm in width, only to get gutted in realizing that its not possible to cut them to size beyond like a good 2 or so cm because the mechanism spans the whole width of the top. This was a helpful video nevertheless and it looks amazing! Back to the drawing board for me 😂

You can drill out the rivet that holds the Spring and shorten the spring by adding a screw back in for the spring to hook onto. It will slightly lower the "pull" of the blind. For us, its continued to work fine.

Just wanted to say again that the video tutorial was very helpful! I finally mustered the courage to do it for the nursery as well as using an electric drill for the first time. My window frame was 150cm wide so I used 2 x 80cm blinds and cut 4.5cm off each blind. It was a tight fit but I managed to fit it in by not putting back one of the plastic end caps at the top. Not having the plastic end cap wasn't noticeable. Next time I would allow for a 1cm gap and use a non-coloured hacksaw blade (the blue colour rubbed off a bit onto the edge of the blinds).

I haven't tried a jigsaw, I've thought about it multiple times however I didn't want to risk it, as I needed a clean, controlled cut. The only thing that I would consider is a bandsaw with a fine teeth cut.

Thanks for the video. You have inspired me to give it ago :) If it’s any assistance to anyone else, a sharp knife seems to work better on the honeycomb section. I had the light filtering type. Also top section is aluminium and bottom bar is steel. I cut both with angle grinder with cutoff wheel. Mine I couldn’t really lengthen that much, when fully extended the pulleys are at the end, so it’s only a maybe 5cm. Can’t length string with a knot, it’s too big. Had to melt/pull though new string, but can only get maybe 25cm more. Was just enough to work. Bit of a task, but got there in the end :)

I'm still not getting how you can screw into the side of the window when the top of the blind is sitting against the window frame so at that point you can't access it. Unless you remove the ends then screw them into the sides and then push the blind into them which it appears won't work
@DavidTasmania
@DavidTasmania Жыл бұрын
For our doors, the gap from the window to the frame is small. So I can still access the blind internals after attaching. If there was more depth, then we could use the IKEA Clips.

What blade for a 10 inch miter saw if we wanted to go that route?
@DavidTasmania
@DavidTasmania Жыл бұрын
I haven't used one, but I keep thinking about it. The key is the teeth size, I use a fine hacksaw blade, so a Mitre saw blade would need to have as many Teeth as possible. You don't want to have the teeth grab the fabric and pull on it, it needs to cut it. Would love to know how it went if you tired it!

@DavidTasmania

When its 0 degrees outside, and as we currently have single glazed windows (upgrading now), it makes a large difference. As long as the blinds are hooked on at the bottom to lower the airflow under them.

I’ve got one customised to perfectly fit nursery. Blocks out light, reduces noise from outside and prevents heat loss through windows. For example IR gun shows windows at 17.3 degrees C and blind measures 23!! As soon as you lift blind you feel, see and hear the difference.
