I live in Colorado. The rocky mountains are very unforgiving on a dirtbike. Those sharp edge rocks will jolt your bike left or right and the suspension barely works right. I stick to the less rocky trails for this exact reason. The hill climb right before the crash made it worse. Probably going a little too fast for the conditions to make it up the hill, hit the sharp edged rocks causing a little blip of the throttle, then the rear suspension not absorbing it properly bouncing up and down causing no brakes and very little control of steering. Glad you made it out alive.

Used to ride my Harleys over this pass, and often thought I was going to go over, especially when patches of snow/ice on the road. Guy fell in about the only spot you could go down and walk away from it.

My husband and I just got back from riding in marble, ouray, and Silverton. Those mountains are gorgeous, but unforgiving. While watching this, I had flashbacks of some of the ledgerocks we rode on...so I could almost feel it when you went over the edge! I'm so glad you're ok!

I rode off a cliff at 5 mile pass in Utah, it happens fast and than you're stunned, unable to breath, and banged up with broken limbs. I couldn't even inhale to scream from the pain, i didn't remember how i got there. My helmet had a crack on the top and the mouth guard got crushed in so I am glad i had it or I'd have died. This gave me a weird sense of fear lol hope all is well.

I don't know if you could have gone slower and not bounced off. Seems like we all go crazy on our dirt bikes and make every trail our private race track. Watching this I am going to slow down for I have had many close calls.

Sheesh that’s scary. You never know what the ride can bring us. I went down on my last trip to Lake Tahoe. Didn’t expect that was going to happen but you just never know.
