Ridge wallets are way over prices. I bought something basically the same for 25bucks. The only convenience it provides is being smaller then a regular wallet.

Searching for a wallet and saw the Ridge, but they are like 70 plus bucks. So I decided to watch a video to see what it's all about. After seeing this, I'm so glad I didn't purchase it, lol. I mead it is two pieces of ABS plastic with some small screws in them and an elastic band around it. I'm sure there is RFID blocking material in the frame, but seriously, this looks like it should cost $7 on Temu, haha. I'll keep looking but ty so much for the video, you explained the features well.
@pandos_bandos14 күн бұрын
Maybe $15-20 but defiantly not for $140-190 as I've seen on the Ridge official website.

Excellent. Thanks

That’s the only downside to the wallet. You have to stack all your cards instead of having them spread out separately like a normal wallet. BUT that’s also what makes it compact and minimalistic.

Did you also find that a big circular brown mark appears after a while right where the magnet is? Almost looks like a burn mark.

I have a 16" Lenovo laptop with a riser along the back edge that is intended to keep the bottom elevated a few millimeters so that intake vents on the bottom are not blocked. What is the exact depth of the arm measured from the inside edge of the front lip only to where the arm starts to curve downward? I have tried a similar-looking product from Amazon, but the arm is not deep enough. This means that the riser on the bottom of the laptop hangs off the back of the stand without making contact, causing some of the intake vent holes on the bottom of the laptop to be completely covered.

Are there magnets in the stand to automatically align the phone to portrait (or landscape) orientation, or is it up to the user to not misalign the phone too much? Thanks for the video!
@danielcgold10 ай бұрын
The magnets will self-center your phone based on the orientation that you want to use. The strength of the magnets also depends on your case, or lack there of. When your phone is on one orientation, you can pretty easily transition to the other orientation. I have the Peak Design Everyday Phone Case and the case itself has secondary magnets. So the bond between my phone and the HiRise is fairly strong. When I wasn't using the PD case, my phone was able to come off the charger much easier.

HEY! I'm Maggie and I'm a marketer for a new wallet company. We are currently conducting market research and delving into the world of minimalist wallets. We've been looking at competitors like The Ridge and Ekster, both of which are known for their sleek designs. Now we want to collect some opinions for product improvement and video shooting. We want to know the following 2 questions: 1. In what scenarios do you mainly use minimalist wallets? 2. What are your views or opinions on wallets such as The Ridge? If your reply is adopted by us, we will send you a new one as a gift after the product is improved and tested.

Great video, rollerblade-style wheels are definitely the way to go. I'd also suggest spending literally just a few more dollars and get wheels with locks. I also use my office chair for racing games/sims and use foot pedals. When racing I'm energetically jamming down on the pedals so would go whizzing away from my desk. The brakes allow me to use my chair as a normal office chair that I can scoot all around in but when I want to race I can lock the wheels and not move an inch.

@@danielcgold thanks for a great review! I got a Peak Design compression cube to try but I'm not convinced they're worth the price... they're just packing cubes after all. It even started fraying after just one test pack, so I have to send it back. What's your opinion on this, are Peak Design cubes really worth it? I've been getting on just fine with cheapo Amazon ones for 6+ years now, so I'm looking to "upgrade" to compression ones.

Thanks Dan, I've read the metal clamp can be difficult to adjust or it snags, but it looks very easy in your video. I think I'll pick one up this weekend!
@danielcgold10 ай бұрын
I've had 0 issues with mine. I didn't even know that was a point of friction with the cuff. Because mine is fairly old, it may be broken in. So in the off chance that your new one is tight (or snags/difficult) it might need some breaking in.
