My concern is drainage in the event of rain. The slope beside the roof of the shelter will drain right into the side of the roof and thence into the shelter. Dig a ditch at the bottom of the slope to direct rainwater away just like one would trench a tent.

Should have built it in the side of the hill.now when it rains it goes in the shelter.of that was mine I would start digging to the right into the hillside.

I'd be worried about the walls collapsing as they dried out, bringin the roof down. Te risk with the roof could be mitigated with 2 longitudinal beams running the length, and resting the roof beams on those, if a section of wall collapsed, the remaining sections would hopefully prevent a more catastrophic disaster

My brother and I built an underground fort back in the 1980's and it was great until the next spring when the groundwater level rose and flooded us out. It was warm in the winter too. So even though we only got a small amount of water directly from the rain water seepage from the walls was unstable. Underground shelters are temporary for the most part so the labor involved is better spent building something above ground and insulating it well with good ventilation and a good thermal mass around your heat source.

Дрявая крыша для домика - само то, будет куда во время дождя или таяния снега воде затекать. Парнишка решил сам сгореть, домик сжечь и заодно в лесу пожар устроить, так как об условиях противопожарной безопасности и слыхом не слыхивал. Железная печь впритык к деревянной стене, а то, что фольгу прибил, она так же поможет, как пурген от землетрясения. Жестяная труба, проходящая через деревянную крышу - ещё один фактор пожара. Я удивлён, что он не сгорел в первую ночь.
