hey pauline! i just love to go thrifting with you via video! we don't have any thing like this where i live - estate sales - so it's always exciting to see what's in peoples' houses - and their houses too! have you ever flipped real estate? guess that was easier years ago - my mom did it. hey - quick question: i was under the impression we can't sell 'used' perfumes, only empty bottles. i just checked ebay, and that does seem to be the case. how did you get past this "rule"? i'm working on my next email/questions to plague you with...cheers to you! libby in utah

Hi. Yes, official Ebay is no on open bottles. But, I wanted to show that they are selling. Which is so interesting to me. NOT that I want you or anyone to break Ebay rules :)

Thank you for the wonderful video. I am a train guy. I have always liked train but never was into model railroading until I started buying a sell stuff. The area I'm in is rich in railroading history as well as current day, so I was running into it quite a bit at sales so started learning about it and picking it up.

Hi, I’d really love your videos on chocolate one and learning about glass, thank you so much! I’m watching from Sweden, I have family in New York so this summer did my first estate sales in NY. It’s overwhelming to going to houses sometimes, I would love to know how you do to keep focus and not forget to pick up things. Wish you a lovely August and happy trifftig! Kristina

Hi @kristinasandelin5902 and Welcome to the Stealth Beauty Gifting Channel! Yes, for me also, it can be overwhelming! I still miss things and go too fast sometimes. What has worked for me the best - first step for me is to look at the photos that they provide ahead of time and see if there is anything special that draws my attention - do the pictures let us see what room(s) that item(s) is in? I then write their address and the times of the estate sale and then make a few notes next to it. That way, once I have a whole list of estate sales I want to go to I can remember what I was drawn to before I get there. Every store wants to get us to pick up as much as possible. And they set up their displays to draw us in. And estate sales, if they are good, are set up to do the same thing! I then stay as grounded and focused as possible when I arrive on the things I wanted to get to first. I know for me it is usually the kitchen and the garage. When I get to the kitchen, I try to remember to breath and take a moment to look all around it (up high too) before diving it. And same for every room. Sometimes the best things are way up high as every else is looking at eye level. AND, it's ok to put things in the HOLD area BUT once I have my pile to SLOW DOWN and really examine each item in the light before buying. (A lot of estate sales are dark so can be hard to really see the quality until it is good light.) To look for chips or cracks or tears etc. (I am still working on this step especially :) Hope this helps. I plan to do a whole series of short videos of each step in case it is of help to others. Wishing you Happy Treasure Hunting!

I go thrifting in the Coachella Valley 2-3 times a year. I live about 1 1/2 hrs away. I've been to several of the stores you showed. It's fun to score a special treasure!!! Where I live we also have Angel View Thrift Stores. There was a Clearance Center in Hemet that closed a year or two ago. Didn't know there was one in Desert Hot Springs. Thanks for the tip!!!

Hi Homelesanta. I would LOVE to be able to pick up furniture and large mirrors. But, I just don't have the room - or the car for it. Some times in the online auctions there are GORGEOUS pieces that go for peanuts! But, in my thoughts to be able to do that in the near future.

yay! always looking forward to your most awesome adventures and finds. I mean seriously, you run across the nicest things! i was curious how you transport your glassware - do you have old newspapers in your car in case an estate sales/yard sales don't? and oppo? omg, who knew? really nice video - thanks - oh, btw, i *still* can't figure out how you get the # of items of like kind and #s sold...i think you mentioned before, and i STILL can't make it work and i'm not a noob! well, maybe i am... anyway, what would i want (you) to find? hmm - Moss Tents. Anything vintage/unique American made restaurant ware, especially butter pats. Antique Limoges (France) or Wedgewood (England) porcelain plates/sets/whathaveyou. Thanks for the chance to win an awesome piece of silver! Cheers from libby in utah

Hi bionance. Yes, I keep a cardboard file box with handles in my car that is filled with kraft paper and some bubble wrap. Most of the estate sales have the paper and bags but sometimes they don't have anything so comes in handy if I need to really wrap once I get back to my car. I am planning on doing a series of short videos of estate sale how-tos including the Ebay look up for sell through rate - how many sale vs how many have sold. Let me know if you thing that would be helpful.

Something I started looking for this year is Jim Shore Figures. There actual was one next to the Dog you picked up for $3. The valve on them can range from $10 to $150+ but most are in that $15 to $45 dollar range and my wife likes them, so I would have bought that one that for $3. However that dog you grabbed was a much better pick, lol.

I have a Griswald flat skillet that is not black, it is silver colored, ike aluminum. I am interested in it's value. No one that I have asked has any idea what the material is. At first I thought it needed sesioning but it stays aluminum colored, never becoming black like my well seasoned skillets that my mother and dad got as wedding gifts when they married in 1938. You are knowledgeable so hope you can give information.

Hi and Welcome to the Stealth Beauty Gifting Channel! Gosh, I have never heard of aluminum Griswold but I am still learning. I did do a search on Google using "Aluminum Griswold skillet' and it looks like it might be worth a good amount of money. Called Duo-Chrome or nickel I believe. But, I as they are rare I am not sure how fast it would sell. It may take a collector who really understands how rare it is to purchase it.
