Mate stop parrying and just work on your walk and block, trying to do parry is just gonna add a mental stack and make you play worse. Also start your punishes with a stand heavy kick it puts them in a crumple state and you can do whatever after wards
@LonghairMcBeard24 күн бұрын
I like this series, it's always interesting to see how new players Interact with the mechanics. I'm sure you're playing classic for the long term pay off but I recommend playing Modern in order to learn the game and using auto combos for punishes, you're landing a lot of hits that you aren't able to follow up with damage or corner carry which means you have to fight harder than the opponent to win. In other words you need to win neutral more times than them the less damage you do. If you want to stick with classic an easy way to get damage is to drive cancel a normal. Jamie's heavy kick, medium kick and crouch medium kick are safe if you hit them from far away and you can drive cancel (press parry when the kick lands) into his medium punch and then press down heavy punch which will combo, then you can then cancel the down heavy punch into whatever special move you want which should generally be freeflow kicks to get drinks. It's not very meter efficient but it's an easy start, you can do harder stuff later. You can also do it on block and press jab then grab to trick your opponent. Both of these also work for raw drive rush you don't have to cancel. You're going for sweeps a lot and that's good, if you pressure your opponent into walking away from you then sweep will hit more often as they can't walk away and low block at the same time. Another cheap trick you can use is land Heavy Punch on block and keep pressing it while being prepared to Drive Impact or Parry, the opponent has to know they can only get out of it with crouching light punch but Rookie players will probably DI or Super instead so you can block or counter DI. If they show you they can stop it with crouching light punch you can start tapping parry after you land heavy punch on block and the timing is tight enough that you're likely to get a perfect parry if you wait a split second. If your opponent is in burnout and they block your heavy punch, you can press crouching light punch and if they try to hit a button you'll hit them first. Lastly if you land a drive impact and have super meter, cancelling down heavy punch into any super will do a lot more damage than doing it raw and it's easy. Good luck, keen to see your progress.

Thanks for the really good advice man! I did try to play on Modern but I actually found myself playing way worse than I did just trying to learn classic. It felt really awkward to try and play on stick. Truth is, I know that my biggest weakness is the pace of the game. This is definitely a more patient game than I am use to. I've come from games like Melee, Guilty Gear, and Tekken where movement tech is necessary. So trying to play SF is like a whole new ball game. I really appreciate the suggestions tho! I feel like the Day 3 video shows a lot of what you are talking about. Using more HP and HK help out a lot, and I've started getting use to the Drive System. 👍🏻

@madtrain22 күн бұрын
It means exactly what it means. Jaime and Ken are two different characters; Modern and Classic are two different playstyles. Everyone starts somewhere and other characters have it easier on a simpler control scheme. Plus this is my literal day two of playing SF6, I have no SF experience what so ever.
@dnkndonutts866221 күн бұрын
@@madtrain ok what I meant is just go watch a beginner guide on KZfaq of whatever character you are playing and go into the practice range a bit and you won’t be rookie, telling you about my dad who has zero fighting game experience was just an example saying how easy it is to not be rookie
@dnkndonutts866221 күн бұрын
@@madtrain this is gonna sound mean but I think you should start off by learning what your moves do like using the dp for anti air and not to cancel from your stand heavy kick and stop doing sweep point blank. That was two things I saw you do from watching 2 minutes of this video

Why is Marvel vs. Capcom on Switch? Just so you know it's not just the kids that play Switch, some of us arcade gamers from the 90s also play Switch as well and the Marvel Capcom games basically started with Nintendo before any other consoles. Almost every characters in MvC2 (Mega Man, Strider, X-Men, Captain Commando, Sonson, etc.) had made a name for themselves thanks to Nintendo.
@madtrainАй бұрын
I know that there's history with Capcom and Nintendo from the past. The real reason why I was saying, "Why on the Switch?" was because it seemed like MVC would be announced in a State of Play or Xbox Gameshow. I am still excited that MVC is getting rereleased in general! 😂
