I always wanted one of these when I was young. I was at college at the time and just before I discovered beer and women....Radio took a pause for a few years and never got one; went for the FT-847 in 2004. I was messing about with a flowerpot on 10m last Saturday with the top mounted to the top of a 10m DX Commander fibreglass pole and worked Israel with about 8W FT-8. It was just a quick and dirty check to see if the antenna works and was quite pleased :) The FT-757GX is still a beautiful radio :) de M0SNR

@g8itb-radio17 күн бұрын
Due to RSGB requirements this may have changed to 145.2625 MHz, simplex with a 77 Hz ctcss tone. Sometime around July 2024. All the analogue gateways on 144.900 and 144.9125 look as if they have to change frequency to accomodate more digital gateways below 145.000. Richard G8ITB.

A little more narrow bandwidth on SSB would probably help to reduce noise. On my FTDX101D I have a DNR that really enhances faint or noisy SSB. Those contacts would be very solid CW QSOs. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbt-oJuU1bmYp5c.html
@spaceflight1019Ай бұрын
Here's a trick for those of us who run vintage gear: use the IF shift and notch filter controls to manipulate the effective receiver bandwidth. Sometimes using the RIT/clarifier along with the other controls will get the QSO in the log. Good DX.
