Yeah when I saw that buck I had to do a retake because it was in the mix of some over priced USA knives and a bunch of China made cheap ones. I was like wait a minute here!!!! I love these Japanese fish knives. They got very good steel in them. 90% of Japanese knives are way underrated!!! Which is cool with me, it slows me to get great deals on equal to if not better in some cases than the USA ones.

I carry the same knife every day… for me the KISS principle works . My Spyderco delica comes out in my hand without THINKING about it. Interesting knife thanks for covering it . I like looking … trying hard not to buy. Some times I see a hole in the collection and I am weak ha ha .. but am trying at 66 years old to just maintain n use what I have . Trying to plant seeds into the grands 🫥🤔 maybe unload some of my guy stuff onto them . Been making some walking staffs with the oldest … Trying to let him do what he wants …. ( I never thought to drill holes at the top of the staff.( he drilled one.,,, then on another stick we drilled about 20)) I did up about 200 with my daughters 25 30 years ago … great stress, relief before coming into the house after work… ( better than drinking). I never thought to do the lots of hole thing .. since then we half drilled some and used resin with dyes … fun experimenting with him on these sticks… and using power tools .

My mother introduced my father and myself to estate sales as a young boy .. we are simple folks from outside of a small town in north east Ohio (rust belt). My folks moved into a new house in ‘67 my dad was a machinist by trade,, but worked with a bunch of carpenters on new home constructions… and they built our house. We didn’t have anything in the dining room for a number of years… one day a dad came home and there was a new dining room set in the dining room… My dad didn’t drink or smoke, rarely got excited,( mad) But he was getting red walking around the ‘new’ cherry dining room table …. Saying over and over again: I told you we couldn’t afford this! All the while my mom was telling him to calm down that this was used and she only paid like 50 bucks for everything….. it took a while , but she finally got through to him … same garage sale … she got a large box of the origional matchbox steel wheels for me … thankfully she let me display them in her figurine display case and I have them today , mint condition .

@@georgia_adventurer yeah it’s a lot to bug out bags for sure . More than people think. It really has to be built to the the area one leaves and to what suites the person and family. Believe or not I got everything in my 65L bag except a pack of the three flashlights. I will show in a fire short or video. I plan to cross load double items into another bag and have two. So I can cross load food over to both. I will be building a third bag that will have strictly medical, food and water purification and always with fire starter items. There are some bad times coming soon.

I know I know I should’ve bought all 50 ( think I paid the buck apiece) . But I did get 10 of them . Kinda cute looking these little leather sheaths. So miniature .

Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!! My dad use to take us for Sunday rides…. When I turn 16 I used to always go cruising in my 63 impala SS .. I was in love with that car since I was 11… My assistant scoutmaster used to own it and used to race it…. I used to talk about motorcycles all the time with my buddies, and my dad was sick of hearing of it ; saying: ‘you’ll never own a motorcycle under my roof’. So when I turned 16 and my assistant scoutmaster needed to sell his race car … my dad made a deal with him… in order for me to buy it; He had the guy swap out the rear end.. put the two barrel back on. And swap out the cam.. It did get great gas mileage!!! lol perfect for cruising.. but no quick takeoff. Anyways, when I met my wife, (when I was 24) probably our second or third date .. I asked her if she wanted to go cruising. After the sixth trip up and down the same boulevard .. ( where the folks cruised in their cool cars) .. She said in a slightly elevated voice: I don’t mind riding around the car, but can it not be the same route?! !!! Oh well .. I just love looking at the old cars here in the south.. I was from the rust belt (class of 75) it was rare for a 10-year-old car to be still together on the road.. unless someone stored it during the winter time.. Used to take my young ones out on the weekends, flea markets.. fishing, junkyards( was restoring an old car). They enjoyed driving .. Made many a trip back to see family cross country. When my youngest graduated from college. she said to me : all her friends were going to different places for their graduation trip…. She said let’s do a road trip you and me out west…. Yeah that was a very cool two week ‘cruise’. Breaking camp often at 5 or 6 at sunrise.. to make the next stop. Ok ok 2 cups of coffee for me is too much..
