YES! As a former rollercoaster club member and moderately experienced rider (272 coasters, I think), I heartily approve of this idea :) It's been too long since I got on a ride so I'm a little envious - and I'm also quite rusty on the nerdy facts and figures now - 15 years ago I could probably have told you the manufacturer of every ride you showed... The Super Nova is of a type that's one of my favourites. I love the way you get air time randomly on those rides as you rotate out of sync with the swinging motion. It's a shame the woodie tried to hurt you - some wooden coasters are really smooth, but they're not always maintained as well as they could be. It's great to see your scrapbook filling up. This project is so cool - what a perfect way to get to know a country! I wonder whether any other countries have lists like this? I should check whether Scotland has, although I've probably already been to a number of the most recommended places here... but I'm sure there are many hidden gems. Just the other day I saw a Masto post about the best sandy beaches in Scotland, and most of them seem to be on the isles.

Bangin video Aimee! Appreciate your honesty while praising the installations. I'm delighted with my new local Sydhavn stations. Havneholmen is so bold I'm surprised they were allowed to do it because it's basically anti-design in a space that, functionally, is so much about design, streamlined wayfaring, not confusing anyone etc... it's a brave contradiction! My favourite, though, may be Mozarts Plads just because of the atmosphere created in the station cave, it speaks to me somehow. And the transfomation done up on street level is really positive. The public square is welcoming to hang out at, and there's wildflower beds and a water fountain: +1 to wildlife diversity!

I was on a training schooner crew when I was 16, and was sent up the shrouds to trim the squaresails during a night crossing of the North Sea in a force 9 gale (we had safety harnesses, of course, but you can't clip those onto anything much until you're on the yard arm). It remains one of the most visceral experiences of my life. What floors me is how small these Viking ships were, and how exposed to the elements! The thought of crossing the North Sea, even in one of the larger ones, is terrifying.
