if you listen closely in the giggle there’s an allusion to it when the archangel network is mentioned. they do the same for 10’s theme and this is gallifrey too

Hearing this and the war master’s theme i can’t help but think this is what doctor who’s main theme sounds like in the master’s head. Once a theme of hope and adventure with a dash of mystery turned into a twisted mind game full of destruction and despair. This theme captures the master’s character so well it would probably even fit most of the classic masters as well. Mainly Anthony Ainley’s master.

People say a Master series where he is like a Homelander/Omni-Man twist to the Doctor would be “Master Who”, but no, “Master Why” is more appropriate.

BTW the rivalry of Doctor vs Master is more Vash vs Knives (Trigun) if I were to give a media comparison, but I mean POV of a menace sense.

I love how the composers made the theme songs of characters echo their personalities so perfectly. Both the masters theme and the doctors theme are a mix between orchestra and synth tones. Personally, I think these two aspects represent the ancient time lord and moderner/younger genius in each of them. While they both posses these orchestral and synth sounds, they each use them in very different ways. The doctors theme is haunting and mysterious, but also exciting and upbeat (just like the doctor and the show respectively). It uses these feelings with a steady tempo and range to endlessly intrigue, making it feel like it’s hovering in the air around you. The masters theme is simply chaotic. It cuts off and changes itself, leaping gaps of volume and a speed when you least expect it. It’s energetic but it’s also scary, jumping in you face from silence. Again, energetic but scary is this version of the master. Great songs

He was cold and calculating, and undeniably evil. Simm's portrayal being completely insane makes sense given that he is post time war-he was presumably rather mad, but the time war exacerbated it tenfold.
