This knife is spectacular. I would love one similar with burned black jarrah scales. What an absolutely stunning knife.

What type of steel did you use with that leaf spring ? Was it 1095 high-carbon steel ?
@0menaddsАй бұрын
Beautiful looking knife. Thank you for showing us your process. Much appreciated. Did you anneal your cast iron g-clamps in the oven ?

Layering is not better long term ? Layered forging enhances durability, strength and edge retention, while providing flexibility with unique patterns in a fine-edged, high hardness knife
@0menaddsАй бұрын
Tip: small drill bits will cut better and last longer if you run the speed faster. Cutting speed when drilling is based on the speed of the cutting edge. Pilot hole very fast, 2nd hole 4 mm fast , final hole 5mm ? Slower. Why did you not layer the steel and hammer a tonne more for the improved hardness for the lifetime of the blade ??

That is a bad Mother Fer. Nice. Now put it thru its courses.

I guess I don't understand the extra heating in the ammo can ? A few clips back the point looked over heated. Now the spine has that same color ? I hope you will explain.

I have never seen the 1600 flip 1500 flip 1400 flip. Maybe an old japanese concept. I was waiting for the quench and it happened. Pinning the blank after quenching in that clamp , wow. Good job.

Hey Mitch, great job. I really like the zinc top. May I ask, what did you use to get the patina effect? I want to try this method. Thanks, really like your videos.

What is the material used for your tumbling process? Just some small smooth rocks? And is the steel used from mower blade?
@angrypineappleknives19 күн бұрын
For the tumbling process I used landscape rocks from my backyard 😆 The steel is an old leaf spring

Beautiful outcome! I really like the whole thing. The flat grind with the stonewash finish and the handle too. The only thing I don't understand is what's going on in those people's heads who gave this video a thumbs down.🤔
