Thank you so much for the informative video!! Even the little things like “with the key on” really helps remind a person!! I have a question : You spoke about if the levels are lower than .5 and 5 but what if they are higher? Does that change anything ? What would you do differently if anything? The one that is in there is off a different Honda, but was working great till yesterday then threw check engine code and she had to gimp it to me. Throttle pedal had been sticky for a bit and we meant to clean it and even had the cleaner here to do it but my husband passed away suddenly last month and we’ve been distracted :-( Thank you so much for your time making this video and in advance for any info you offer :-)

Its not replaceable separately reason on newer models. It has rivets i like it is on 2004 Models with what i call 1st generation. Honda/Acura DBW systems. Guess you can call them that
@ktecgarageКүн бұрын
They are replaceable. I demonstrate how to get the rivets out in the video. The aftermarket replacements have Allen head fasteners.

Your comment sounds vaginal. Care to explain what's wrong? Should I have used two defoulers? If that didn't work should i have used 5? What? Explaining what's wrong would be manly. I'm all ears. I clearly say in the video that if it turns your light off that it didn't fix anything. You are just tricking the computer. The correct fix is replacing the catalytic converter. Not this BS.

I just replaced the bank 1 and bank 2 cats on my '07 Ridgeline, and this video was the most helpful thing on the whole internet! I probably would have given up on bank 1 if you hadn't demonstrated that it is possible. Thanks so much for sharing this vid, and also thanks for sticking to the point and not making half of the video useless filler material like so many others. Like another commenter I did not remove the intake manifold. Really had to have monkey arms to get back there though, what a job!

I have a 98 honda civic ex. I just replaced my distributor O ring 2yrs ago and no more oil leak. Now I see a little oil inside my distributor cap on the edges of cap. Can this also cause my idle to be very low under 1000rpm likes it's going to die my idle when stopped at red light. This happens when it get real hot engine. Could this cause my idle that's very low about to die out?
@ktecgarage9 күн бұрын
Maybe. I'd clean the throttle body first before I went chasing after something else.

On my 03 Honda Civic I was able to reach both button locations since both of mine had fallen out and pop both in without taking out the assembly. I bought them from the dealership at a ridiculous $8 per button, but they had them in stock. They use a plastic/rubber substance instead of metal to reduce the chance of vibration damaging the switches so I would be careful about using metal.

Once you're putting everything back together, is it easier to push each injector back into the intake manifold one at a time, then push their tops back into the holes in the rail as you put that back into position, or should you push the injectors into the rail first, then attempt to push all four injectors into the intake manifold while they're attached to the rail?
@ktecgarage12 күн бұрын
I put them into the manifold and then get the fuel rail lined up and press it down. Then tighten the bolts a little on each side, and work the rail down. It's awkward but doable.
@birdthrow7 күн бұрын
@@ktecgarage Hadn't checked back for you answer when I did it, but I did put them in the manifold first, then lined up the rail and pressed it down on the injectors. I'm not sure It's even possible to do it the other way...I tried, and the injectors attached to the rail made it impossible (for me, at least) to maneuver the rails and injectors around enough to get them pressed into the manifold. Your video does give the impression that you successfully put the injectors into the rails first though...see where it appears you're doing that at 14:22

one of those studs on the exaust manifold look a lot newer than the rest, currently going through this series and when i took off my exaust manifold one of the bolts appears to have been broken for a while. Wondering if you had to fix yours and how you went about it, Thanks!

I had replaced that one. I forget the thread size, but I got a box of replacement studs and bolts on Amazon. I drilled the old one and used an extractor to back it out. Lots of videos out there showing how to do it. Good luck!

@ktecgarageАй бұрын
Well.... You are running the risk of something like a rock getting between the belt and a gear. That could wreck the whole engine. Not very likely to happen, but Honda puts them on for a reason.

Wear gloves. You dont need to dis-assemble the brake caliper. Whacking on the CV joint isnt wise. And when you remove the large nut from the CV joint, maybe bend the locking piece out first. Not very good overall
