The remote controller 2 is not supported on liftoff, right?
@fpvcraft
@fpvcraft 7 сағат бұрын
The DJI “FPV” Remote Controller 2 (for DJI FPV and DJI Avata) is supported. But the DJI Remote Controller 2 (the one for DJI Mini 4 Pro and DJI Air 3) is NOT. Even if you manage to connect it and for the Liftoff to recognize it, it won't be any good as the throttle stick will center itself (DJI RC 2 and DJI RC-N2)

Hi. The controller from Avata (1st gen) is the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2, the same one I have. I also had the FPV SkyDive and connected just fine. Because it’s a Mac, there’s always an connectivity issue, and is all because of the cable. If you have used an USB-C to USB-C, that won’t work. You have to use EXACTLY the following cable system: USB-C (from controller) to USB-A (to a dongle/hub) cable. Then the Dongle/Hub, connect it to the laptop via USB-C. It needs to make this transition from USB-C to A Cable and from USB-A to C. If this is the issue for you, have a look at this article. fpvcraft.com/how-to-connect-dji-fpv-remote-controller-2-to-mac/ Furthermore, indeed, most these FPV simulators are paid, but are far better than the free ones.

Do you think SIM Pilots absolute destroy RC Pilots? I mean absolutely f'n destroy. And that's why they h8t3 us and are so jealous.... and talk trash about us. When they're just flying to generated pixels just like us. GPU or image sensor, they're both electronically generated and fake... Neither one of our feets leave the ground. I love sims because at this time, is a bit inaccessible for me to fly any FPV drones (although I did it in the past though). There is always a difference of opinions and indeed, RC flying is the next level which gives you that adrenaline boost, but SIM flying is the safest type of flight which still gives you the skill and you can improve a lot as you have no limit on how long you can practice. I know some pilots' attitudes towards those who enjoy sims a lot (because my content is at this time around FPV simulators) are not great, but in the end, these are two sides that can remain separated and one doesn't have to intersect with the other necessarily (or ever). As a gamer, I love FPV sims, but ultimately, I want to evolve as much as possible - and I will always be impartial to any side (I don't talk trash).

I am a Beginner. I owned Liftoff for years with only 30 minutes playtime before i gave up but until a few days ago i started to become very interested in the hobby again because i saw some awesome Tryp FPV Videos. So i went back into Liftoff (Xbox Controller), went against all advices and started in Acro Mode and just tried to learn what the drone does when i do certain stick movements. After 20-30 Minutes it clicked in my brain and i was able to do very basic movements aka making the drone go where i wanted to. But the very sensitive controls on Liftoff where an issue! So i bought Tryp FPV and my learned basic skills immedately transitioned over. After another 2 hours in Tryp i could do some slow fun stuff already. Had a blast. Now im 7+ hours into Tryp, became a Beta tester for it and still on Xbox Controller and still improving my skills and still having fun. I also tried Uncrashed FPV but while its similar well playable as Tryp i find the physics worse - specialy the idle liftup-forces which still bother me. If you are a beginner and interested in flying drones - buy Tryp if you have a decent pc! Buy Uncrashed if you would really struggle with performance or really want Multiplayer.

To be honest, the first time I put my hands on an FPV simulator (Liftoff), I used an Xbox controller. Only after a while, I got my first FPV radio transmitter, and if I remember right, I had a few hours in Liftoff where I learned the basic controls with that Xbox controller. Nevertheless, the moment I transitioned from Xbox controller to FPV RC, it was a massive improvement in skill level and flight experience. I mean, with my Xbox controller I always had a bit of a dead zone around the center, didn't respond that accurately - sure enough, was decent to get me started. However, the FPV transmitters respond to the micrometer level on the input axis, which offers far better accuracy than any Xbox or PS controller. I still recommend TRYP overall and I don't shut it down although it was my go-to FPV simulator for a long time, but with their graphic requirements and the slightly inaccurate roll/yaw controls plus the diving is a bit unnatural, it needs a lot of micro-adjustments (PID and tunings) to make a drone fly more naturally, which is fine but may confuse a very beginner who just gets into FPV (reason for me recommending those 3 simulators mainly). Btw, have you tried VelociDrone? It's by far one of the best in terms of physics, drone dynamics, and controls (but not graphics hehe).

Are you using the M1/M2 experimental launch option in TrypFPV? I have a M3 Max MacBook Pro but using the experimental launch option I am getting rock-solid locked 60fps with mostly ultra settings. I think it’s one of the best examples I’ve seen of a game with high quality graphics optimized for Mac. If you use the intel launch option, you’ll get bad performance.
@fpvcraft
@fpvcraft 7 күн бұрын
Hi Ryan, Sorry for the late response. I uninstalled TRYP FPV a while back so I cannot confirm for sure if I have used the experimental launch option or the standard way - but I am pretty much confident I have done everything to make it work as smoothly as possible. I'm a relatively technical person, so I think I haven't missed this option if it was available at the time. Comparing the M3 Max CPU with the M2 standard, I knew the performance difference could be astronomical, but from your sayings, this is simply fantastic! The experiment I have done is related to a low-medium end M-cpu-based Mac. Your input is actually crucially helpful for me to assess the differences in performance with TRYP FPV, and maybe other sims, with higher-end MacBooks. Quick question, if you have other FPV Simulators on your Mac - how are these performance-wise on an M3 Max? I appreciate your answer. Thank you!

@fpvcraft 14 күн бұрын
Hi Evan; back when I made the video, I was genuinely surprised by the major improvement in TRYP FPV's physics. There haven't been many TRYP updates ever since as far as I know, but I have tried to get in-depth into understanding their physics system, PID's for different drones and to heavily compare it with Uncrashed, Liftoff, and other FPV simulators on my practices. I somehow feel that the actual physics that is right now present in TRYP may not be the top anymore, especially since Uncrashed had major physics improvement, Liftoff had as well with the introduction of A.I. PID's and I have spent more time practicing in those than TRYP. So with each of my returns to TRYP, although the other simulators feel more natural at the moment, I still feel something is slightly off, especially with the drone's response to roll and yaw. Maybe I need a deeper understanding and in-depth testing of PIDs, and rates and to optimize a drone to respond as closely as possible to real-world physics, but going with the basic settings, it's slightly off at this time. At least, that's my view on it. Edit: I read the description and edited it for better clarification - now I see why it was confusing :)

@@fpvcraftoh I see I didn’t know about the Uncrashed and Liftoff recent physics changes. I feel the same about Tryp although I’m yet to fly a real FPV I’m solely basing my feelings on the other sims I tried. I feel like Tryp has the most natural reaction to inputs, like how it snaps when you realise the sticks looks a lot like the real life videos I’m watching but the motion of the drone relative to the attitude feels kinda off. It feels like it’s too “on rails” and has no drift.

Hi. Depending on what type of DJI controller. If it’s an FPV controller from DJI, they’re all compatible with all these simulators. If it’s a standard DJI drone controller, I’m afraid not so much. Just be aware that to connect it you need a specific cable+dongle, as USB-C to USB-C is not working directly. You can also check my other video, it will be explained there everything.

I could not believe how hard Liftoff felt the very first time. I thought something must be wrong with it, etc... nope it was just me. It has given me a much deeper respect for the people that can fly these things. It might be easy for some, for me it is truly difficult and I am learning very slowly. Hi there, While it's possible to connect the DJI RC 2 (if we're talking about the controller with screen for the Mini 4 Pro or Air 3) to a computer for various reasons like updating firmware and transferring data, unfortunately, there may be issues to use it with FPV simulators. (In our case, we used the DJI FPV RC 2) Most standard GPS drone controllers are not compatible with FPV simulators, as far as my knowledge. Ultimately, I can't 100% confirm this, but I've tried in the past to use standard drone controllers with Liftoff and other simulators and never managed to make it work. You may need to use an FPV controller instead (or Xbox / PlayStation controller)

You can pick up DRL for really cheap, it goes on sale all the time. But if you do you should just go into Freestyle mode and follow along with a KZfaq series that teaches you how to fly. You can still follow along and train the concepts even if they use a different similator. The tutorials were extremely rigid, and being reset every 4 seconds for the slightest mistake without learning correction or recovery was counterproductive.
