This brought back a lot of great memories. Turned 70 this year and had a couple of scooters when I was a lad. First was an SX200, reg from memory was PVW 4D and the second was a new GP 200 but can’t remember the reg. They were my daily transport for a few years, wish I still had the SX200. Great vid, thoroughly enjoyed it and the first one 👍 PS, scooter resto’s looking great !

Trouble is there’s so many ex & present riders saying the reason they’ve bought a RA / Scomadi or even a gts is because Lambrettas breakdown too frequently.. It’s just an excuse.. My Li125 S3 traveled 20 miles off 13k before it needed new rings & brg's & seals. before that I'd had two throttle cables go,& lost the rear layshaft / hub nut & lock washer etc.& a few bits that rattled off.. but not anymore ( loctite ) 😂 Loving your videos

Already have a 65 Li125 S3 & a 65 Li125 Special which I’ve rebuilt / restored with help from my local Lambretta guru & have recently bought a 60 S2 Li125 to do the same with, all three being Italian imports. However this one looks like it has been in a dry environment as considering it was last registered according to the Italian paperwork back in 78 & also the engine isn’t seized.. Took out the spark plug to have a look & it had the perfect colour, like yours it’s still on original 6v electrics with points… Taking off the petrol tank & emptying it didn’t please my wife as garage attached to house & the smell found it’s way into the rest of our house lol Being the same as yourself similar to an orangutan with legs that are longer than an Olympian pole vaulters pole,😂 I have to have a bench seat to be able to get my legs to fit. Strangely enough I can’t remember it being an issue back in 69 when I bought my first Lambretta or any of the Lambrettas I owned after that..🤷♂️. Great video.. now going to watch part two 👍👍

Sorry mate, I'm sure this won't be popular, but I would much rather you did as full resto on it. I would love to see it as it would have been in the '60s. I don't see the point in mopping and brushing to make it still look rubbish. Seems like a lot of time and effort wasted to me. Would really love to see all the panels repaired and sprayed as they would have been. If you want rust and dirt, why bother with all the cleaning effort, just leave it the way you found it, and just do enough to get it running. As I say, won't be popular but just my opinion.....but would still have loved to see it in "as-new" condition....

@@vinegarjoe9706 there’s a simple answer to that- there is about 5000 of those type of restos just at the iow rally weekend so why bother doing another one? This one is unique and gets a lot more attention… anyone can do a restoration 🥱… this is tells a story and wears it’s history

@@julianminnekeer5933 I don’t get this ‘restore everything for the sake of it’ … every scooter/bike would look the same… yes restore basket cases to put them back on the road but if it doesn’t need a complete restoration why would you?… and the original parts are a lot better quality than new shiny parts… this scooter tells a story just by looking at it… it’s clearly got history and gets your imagination going thinking what that history is… it is completely unique looking there’s no other one like this one… to restore an old painting/antique /original paint classic car that doesn’t need it is sacrilege and decreases the value because people don’t find it as desirable… same with lambrettas … i like a well done resto of a wrecked lambretta but i hate seeing loads and loads of the same looking restoration jobs that are never used….
