I found a TTI Canik on Cabela's web site for $899. Minus 5% Veteran's discount and I joined the Cabella's Club and waited for a "flash discount" email code of 10% that stacked on the veteran's discount, AND I received a $20 gift card for signing up for a Cabela's credit card. AFTER tax, shipped to a Cabela's near me was $801.26. I really wanted the TTI with the Optic. Those come with a Mecanik 6 MOA red dot. I found that at a local gun shop for $177. They also gave me a veteran's discount of 5% and an emailed code for 10%. For under $1k I have both the gun and optic. I like the holster that came with the Canik. I, too, wanted to mount a Safariland QLS fork to that holster. I found a metal plate on Amazon that is actually designed to mount the Safariland QLS fork to a Blackhawk Omnivore holster. I took a chance and ordered that plate. The holes line up perfectly, one side to the Canik TTI holster and the other to Safariland QLS fork. I made a slight modification to the foam cutout in the TTI Canik case to fit the holster with the QLS fork for storage when not in use. I've only owned the TTI Canik for a few weeks. This was my first Canik.

I picked up my MAC 9 DS about 3 months ago. I have put about 500 rounds down range, and the MAC ran flawless. I was a Glock guy and carried a Glock for 15+ years but I wanted a change and the MAC 9 fit the bill. I have not changed any internals, but I have added a Streamlight TLR-1 HL light and a Holosun 507C red dot. For me, the MAC 9 is an excellent gun that shoots great. I have numerous years of tactical experience and also being a firearms instructor. Yes, the MAC 9 is not a Staccato, but it sure beats the hell out of a Springfield Prodigy and other similar handguns. I have no regrets purchasing the MAC 9 and I carry it everyday.

@markela1313 It was like February after it had some updates. It didn't run really bad per se, but had so many little fitment headaches with holsters, magwells etc where it's slightly off. Mine had a few issues like incredibly tough safety, the safety disconnector once in a while giving me a dead trigger. Some coating deficiency it seemed like. Was also hitting way off from point of aim and sights not adjustable. Thought i was crazy but I had other pistols with me to confirm i just suddenly forgot how to aim.

This suggestion isn’t as “budget friendly” as the MAC but have you guys seen/ tested a Stealth Arms Platypus 1911 DS? It takes Glock 17 mags, insane customization on their website and shoots like a dream I have about 5,000 rds thru mine. It’s a dream. Base model runs $1,500 and full build from them is just around $2k
@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER5 күн бұрын
Not yet, but we would like to do a video of the Platypus and the Oracle Arms 2311 in the near future. Right now as the channel is growing, we don't quite have the money to fund a video like that just yet.

Caniks can be a bit finicky during the first couple of hundred rounds, but once they break in and loosen up, they run like bosses. I have 3 with the latest being a Rival-S Darkside. The Darkside initially had some feeding issues the first 200, but now she's purring like a kitten. I use her for competition and have a lot of rounds through her. I suspect the TTI will be similar.
@killacoiler170716 күн бұрын
MAC pistols are manufactured by Tisas. The MAC 9 DS is a modern Staccato styled “2011" but you can get a Tisas branded 1970s style 1911 DS which uses a bushing barrel and GI length guide rod for around 700 bucks that is better than most of the other budget 2011s you have mentioned as well. The Tisas brand of pistols are being slept on way too much in my opinion because they have the quality of manufacturing but come in at prices that are usually associated with janky firearms. I own the PX9 Gen 3 Duty and it is an incredible firearm especially for the price that I paid which makes it an insane value. Tisas/MAC are definitely worth looking into.

One local shop had 1 for $1025 or $1050, I told them I can get it from Primary Arms for $850 but they wouldn't budge on price. Called another local shop about 5 minutes after they opened and they had just got 2 a few minutes ago. Went in to check it out, decided I liked it, in and out in 10 minutes. Yeah I coulda saved $150 but waited a week. Since I bought it from the local range they let me shoot for free now so that's a huge plus. By the time I went back on my lunch break to shoot it, the other one was gone. shoots pretty flat, light weight, nice rugged grip. I recently bought a 2011 and its so heavy it makes my pants keep sliding down when I try to EDC it. This one is perfect weight even with the 21 round mag in. I saw another video that its basically a Canik Mete sft with a fancier slide and a comp. The slides, lowers, and mags are interchangeable. But overall Id have to say I'm pretty happy with my TTI.

Ive shot most of the 2011's. I just traded a couple guns and got one of these Mac 9 ds. To me they all are about the same. Its definitely a shooter. So for roughly $1OOO to play with a 2011 you decide. I like my cz shadow 2 and 75 bullshadow.

Bought one for $1000 Heavily defective, wouldn't even cycle ammo regardless of the type. Light strikes, jams, failure to return to battery. Canik is happy to give you a RAN # and a fedex print out to mail it in for repairs, except they mail it back claiming it was test fired and it was still fucked the fuck up bad. So, very displeased we request a refund, they offer a replacement. Our FFL dealer is still waiting for it... even though they said it would be fast, this process has been going on for months... ZERO enjoyable range time for the $1,100+ invested (grabbed a couple extra extended mags before they mailed back a defective gun, now I'll never buy anything from Canik again) As for it being "snappy" and "smooth" ... just, no. It's a glock for all intensive purposes. Ran a CZ Shadow 2 Compact earlier today, now that is a nice fucking gun with a super snappy slide/action.

Every other review says the Optics plate is trash the grip texture is horrible and slippery and the trigger is too damn big
@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER5 күн бұрын
The trigger isn't bad, and with very slight adjustments can be pretty good with no money spent. The optics plate is holding up just fine for us, though I can see how some could have issues. Lastly, the grip thing is all personal preference. Neither Andrew or I are small folks, so I don't notice it much. It is a little chunky, but not unbearable. Check out the Part II video we just posted. We did address some of those things.

@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER5 күн бұрын
So, our intention was to compare the MAC to the gold standard... a Staccato P. What ended up happening was we kept comparing it to the Springfield Prodigy. If you catch our Part II video that just came out, we definitely back peddled on the Staccato comparison, as it's not fair. Thanks for the comment though!
@mikeg7ga9224 күн бұрын
@@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER I said this because I own P ,prodigy , Apollo 11 and Mac9 and I will say all compare to each other pretty fair they all have different and sometimes the same minor issues, I have run my P 2000 rounds without cleaning or oiling since I took it home. Staccato is above average 2011 I will never say they are the best

Yeah... 90% of the indoor range won't let you draw from your holster or do rapid fire. I think the most is 3 rounds in quick succession is allowed though. The only way I can make it work without breaking their rules is holding the gun below your chest pointing the gun down the range (acting as though you are holstering but not really), get into shooting position, aim and fire. That is one reason why I prefer outdoor ranges.
@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER26 күн бұрын
I think a lot of indoor ranges are starting to change with the times. We allow all those things to be done here, but you can adapt most of these drills to fit the rules of your range.
