I used to own an Rx8. They are so nimble and handle so well. Just replacing the motor every couple years was kinda meh... Apex seals and what not... but at that time it was covered under warranty... Here's my two cents. Overall some good advice and nothing here is going to hurt but the factory test runs these units (it's why there was oil on the dipstick when he first pulls it) so I see very little benefit to pulling the plug and putting oil in prior to first start. The cylinders already have lubrication from the factory they are not dry.

@@anthonywithem2272 450hp roots or twin screw, 475-500 centrifugal, 525 turbo. The weak link is the connecting rods followed by the pistons. With better rods and pistons it's pretty stout. On a budget, DSS FX pistons and Coyote rods will get you to the sweet spot of 650 - 700hp. Anything over 700 and longevity starts to get compromised.

@rbliven4. When I asked my mechanic about seeing a "red dye" to trace an oil leak around my timing belt cover on my Chrysler Sebring, they told me the dye was only seen with special glasses and a black light, I thought, Wow, what a lot of BS that was.
