Only been listening for a few weeks...but by far the best podcast I've come across. Andy is funny as all hell. Keep up the good work guys. And also, I can't remember who the Nissan guy is...but us 1st gen xterra (wd22) owners need help! We've only got a small handful of companies to choose from when getting aftermarket parts. Which doesn't make sense as there is a decent following for the platform. The 2nd gens (N50) seem to get all the love and support. Help us get more companies involved in making the goodies we need.

The game is called "Hypothetical Bug Out Vehicles"?
@TheOffRoadPodcast4 ай бұрын
We do hypothetical episodes from time to time and build up vehicles that we can find on marketplace or bring a trailer and have a budget and show what we would have gotten think of kinda like the top gear specials but we don't have a fancy bidget

I know it really doesn't matter but that lift was not on the fenders. There was a piece of synthetic line wrapped though the wheel. The jack foot was very close to the fender though.

I am currently living in Napier (where these photos are and where Caleb came to help) met up with Caleb at one point on one of his runs. But we were out doing other missions for other people. So saw this stuff in person everyday for weeks while doing everything we could to help. After seeing all of that the pictures and stories still bring tears to my eyes Everytime it’s brought up.

Amazing! What a legacy Loren Lee has left us! He sure did find the best adventure partner in Patricia. We know there would not have been this story & Guinness Book of Record, had it not been for Loren’s “help-meet”. Such respect for tenacious, brave, & patient people who trust God & their instincts!

You kept riding it through deep water and sucking it up the air intake of course it didn't make it however if you had sealed the breather and added a snorkel to the air intake it probably would have done just fine

One thing you don't talk about in your cost of ownership.. yes, diesels usually require a premium when you purchase them. However, unless you are keeping it forever, most of us sell/trade them in eventually. Diesels command a much higher price in the used market. So that difference at purchase might be negated when you sell. Or even more! Your typical Cummins Ram vs gasser of same year/mileage/spec goes for much higher.. maybe even higher difference than you paid for the extra of the diesel. Make sense??

I’m honestly a little disappointed in y’all’s locker knowledge. It one of the most important thing on a 4x4. A lunchbox locker is one that replaces spider gears only. Like packing a lunch box. And are considerably cheaper than a full carrier Detroit. Also you don’t have to hold the cable of an ox locker with vise crips. They come with a slug you can screw in where the cable goes to lock it. And if you were stuck out in the wildernesses why would you want you’re locker to fail open leaving you without it. At least you could get out.
