Strickland (sets up the balls): if you want to be as good as Bustamante, you need to become expert in how to chalk your cue. > Student learns after years of practicing how to chalk even with the most eroded chalks. Bustamante (chalks the cue): if you want to good like Efren, you have to master how to hold the cue. > Student after years of trying out different cues learns how to hold it with at the perfect balance points. Efren (takes an arbitrary and unchalked cue from the rack): if you want to be lucky like me, you have to just pot the ball 😂 > Student misses

Bustamante is the most underrated pool player IMO.. but he is a top 10 ATG easy..

It's a towel wrapped in electrical tape. He still does that to this day.

He’s trying to teach them how much draw you can get with that kind of elevation before you scoop the ball I believe.

Earl is teaching younger guys to chalk with the edges and he came from the Era where they would drill the chalk. That's actually freaking amazing to hear that from an old school player. Bustamante and Efren must be going like excuse me we drill chalk 😂😅

I was watching a match YEARS ago at a bar in Honolulu, like 2010 or so, and Jeanette Lee was in the house. Big crowd, everybody shouting questions. She was hotter than the volcano! she and another female pool -Player, I think it was Lori Johns, did the same thing these guys are doing show interaction intermingling with the crowd. But when she got up to talk to everybody and why did everybody down and started talking, that's the first thing you do is learn to use the chalk right. Can I write, she meant doing the edges are not drilling it. Stop recording

@38:35 an easy bank messed his whole life up. maybe if he would practice banks the way he practices how to cheat or use ill tactics, like rubbing the felt during a lag race, he could have made the ball in style and position instead of hoping he don't scratch and losing control of the cue ball.

@13:10 poor dude missing all his shots, one reason is he keeps grabbing the butt of the cue hard when he on the up swing, which changes the cue ball projectory. Maybe he also needs a longer cue as well as he's playing at the butt. Also if in the past the cue flew out his hand (or he thinks it will), this could cause him to have a stigma that can be repaired.

@5:45 he has a very bad stroke, his elbow and arm are way out of alignment and sideways. Unless this is due to a medical condition or bad health/joints in the body, he should start there.

Someone should have handed Earl a samurai sword. Never count him out on trick shots, or anything else with a cue or billiard table.

Earl gives lessons in North Jersey. Just had a two hour private lesson last week. He’s an intense guy, incredible just to be standing at the same table as him. Great instruction from the best!!
