Man I miss how this section was in the 80s. Before upgrading that freeway. You could just drive off the street an onto the sad there before that bridge. Water was loaded w/jetski rentals, lots of windsurfers, paddle boats, kites flying & wade fishing there was great with specs. And after a full day of fun, snoopys was just right there. Been going there since it opened. Great food. Geez I need to move me & my boys back there. We should have never left...Great video caption of everything & some nice catches. Ya made me home sick. lol

Hope you did ok for Beryl, seemed like it hit Houston more than Corpus. I was wondering if you could make a video talking a little bit about your gear. What kind of rods and line and all that. I live in San Antonio and I've been watching a bunch of your videos and being a complete noob when it comes to fishing I have become very interested in going down to Corpus for some fishing. Keep up the great videos!
@Jacemang_Outdoors13 күн бұрын
Yea Corpus was fortunate, storm moved east last minute. I try to sprinkle gear overviews into the vids. I can do a dedicated gear vid in the future. The down n dirty is just go fish and use what feels comfortable. There is no substitute for experience on the water. Medium action rod, with baitcaster or spinning reel of choice can catch anything inshore. Let me know if I can answer specific questions you may have. Tight lines!

I fish all the same spots you do. I dont think theres a single spot you’ve fished that I havent been to. I think only the famous ship channel video (last video) Id never seen. Only took a few minutes on Google maps to find it. The spot doesn’t matter for the people asking, it’s the ability to see the patterns and find the fish. I know because Ive been to all these spots and get skunked lmao. He’s not just hooking up because its a good spot, its because he knows how to find fish and use his lures effectively. Id love to learn from you man. I got an Outback spent a lot of time at Brown and Root. Bought a n Ankona Skiff last month been learning to sight fish but its a work in progress. Was on some tailing reds this past weekend and couldnt convince a single one to bite. Frustrating.

Thats cool, Ive been in the area a year so trying to explore different fisheries. I generally fall back on fundamental fish behavior given the season and conditions to find fish. Im also a power fisherman so I generally move alot to cover water. Fish are usually feeding somewhere and it might not be someone's favorite spot. I try to explain this principle to spot snipers but they dont listen lol. I appreciate the awesome comment. Maybe we will run into eachother on the water!
