When docs say that they hide their illness or pain. I don’t believe that true at all cause if they are eating less..or hiding and acting strange that’s telling us owners that there is something wrong with them.

We have a 12 year old cat with an open sore on her chest...it is a cancer tumor...she is eating good and is still playful. We keep her covered with a baby blouse. Using (period) pads to cover the open area.

She lost me when she said: obviously you are not a doctor. I arrived in a vets office and I said: my cat is checking all the symptoms for diabetes and I would like to run some labs on him, the vet laughed and said “you are not a doctor”. Turns out my cat had indeed diabetes. He putted him on vetinsulin while I told him cats usually take long lasting insulin. Changed vet, she insisted on vetinsulin for months till she finally agreed with me. Currently, people are more educated and have instantaneous access to information, be careful underestimating people, they might not have the general knowledge you have, but they might have done their homework.

The problem is that the average vet just isn’t all that good about diagnosing cancer unless it’s reached the point that it can’t be treated. We just lost our kitty two months after I identified he wasn’t feeling good and brought him to our vet. Based on the symptoms I saw I asked about cancer but after examining him and running tests the vet said it was just decreased liver function that could be easily treated with medication. Over the next month his activity decreased and he lost more weight. Not being able to get him into our vet right away I want to a different one that told me he was terminal and should be put to sleep immediately but wanted to run more tests that were inconclusive. Eventually we ended up at the ER vet where they too just wanted more tests until nearly two months after I identified this issue it was finally announced that it was cancer and that his intestines were breached. We lost him two days later before we could even arrange for euthanasia. This was very frustrating as if it had been ID’d immediately we could have at least made his final days better and at best may have been able to extend his life. Not that human doctors are better, I lost my mother to this same sort of incompetence in diagnosing cancer until it’s way past the time anything can be done.

In another video that I just watched of a Vet showing this treatment, he went much, much, much slower than this tech and explained why it's important to go slow. The girl in this video does look like she's going way too fast to even be beneficial. My Lab has 6 treatmeants coming up soon, and I'm hoping the techs are more trained. Her technique looks nothing like the Vet we just watched. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and why it was important, and even mentioned that the dog should be very relaxed and calm, which this dog isn't, not to mention having the poor dog lying on a hard, cold floor.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG APOQUEL, it inhibits Kinases and in specific it inhibits all JAKS which are needed to fight off tumors. Some dogs die within a week of taking apoquel while others die a few years later. The timing of when your dog will die for being on apoquel depends on their immune system and their propensity to grow tumors. My dog was on apoquel for 3 years and died of cancer 3 days ago. For 7 years my dog was healthy and had no tumors, then the itching started and the vet prescribed apoquel. His belly started to swell, I took him less than a month ago to the vet, and she claimed he was fine. But then he became more and more letargic, he had been gurgling/snooring really loud, which he never did before, when laying down. The morning of his death he squaled, we thought he just wanted to pee, he did pee and did number two. Then he went to our room and didn't want to leave, then he died. We tried to revive him for half an hour and then we realized he was bleeding from the mouth. Either his stomach or his intestine ruptured because of the tumor and went septic and died... Search for "apoquel killed my dog" you will find literally hundreds if not thousands of dog owners all who watched their dogs die of cancer after taking apoquel...

I just lost my 13 year old Russian Blue female house cat Mittens too that terrible cancer of the tougue and just had her too the vet last may for a grooming . I didn't catch a weight loss , until her eating habits changed . We had her put down December 7th 2023 . she was our baby . I read online that seniors cats need checked twice a year, I asked my vet about this after Mittens passed and he said once a year is enough . DO I NEED TOO CHANGE VETS .

My cat was just diagnosed with bowenoid in situ squamous cell carcinoma. The doctor hasn’t called us back but he had surgery two weeks ago and I requested his results. We’re not sure what stage this is or if that’s even how this works. Do you know the life expectancy for a cat with this condition? From the biopsy results it looks like they indicated it was localized… But he does have other scabs and lesions under the skin that itch. 😢
