The phyrexians are more cyborgs mix and matching creatures in the ultimate kitbashing of flesh and metal but I long to play back in kamigawa now it's back in cyberpunk style.

Great vid. Raised some excellent points there and shed light on some historical context for net decking that was before my time 😅 I think one of the reasons netdecking is still a theme of discussions is because of the emphasis on the creative/self expressive element of deck building in certain formats that put less emphasis on competitiveness like commander. Within commander there is the cEDH subculture that does lean more on the "net decking" that encourages a play to win approach and strongly prefers players to net deck if they want to play with them. Then you go to places like the playEDH dischord where they have a strict tiering system and you have to submit your EDH deck list to them and agree to make changes in order for your deck to fit cleanly in one of their tiers before you can play. Naturally this has left a bad taste in a lot of EDH players mouthes who don't want to be told to either "nerf" or "power up" their decks. When at the end of the day it's their deck. All this is to say, that I think this dichotomy of creativity Vs conformity is something that is still a debate raging in magic in some areas. In more competitive spheres of magic conformity is key, and in casual variants creativity is key. When there is a mismatch between different player's expectations at a given table then there's bound to be problems. Rule zero discussions in commander are meant to solve this, but these don't always happen and some prefer to skip these discussions because they ruin the surprise. It's kind of fascinating how issues in magic can persist but evolve in different ways over time like the "net decking" debate has.

Hey Thomas, Cracker here. Yep I've got them in the board of my physical deck but Chewy didn't own any on MTGO so we just went with out them. My current list is here - scryfall.com/@Cracker/decks/49f736bd-8a7f-4cad-8d1b-efff3db335a2 The mana base needs some tweaking but I'm happy with the spells. The other build I'm interested in has Bloodbraid elf and Blood Moon in the main.
@tirelessthomas4496
@tirelessthomas4496 4 жыл бұрын
@@magicbeanscast Bloodbraid elf could be bad because of the 3-mana spells in the deck (ape, Beast within, Faerie macabre, F-Mage).
