Wasn't It Good is one of the most beautiful ballads of all time and as much as I think the end coda is very well suited and sounds great I prefer to hear it sometimes without the extended ending. So here it would end at 16:43. What do others prefer - the whole song as recorded or without the coda at the end of which that are a couple of examples out there. Maybe I like both depending on the day? Whatever the case may be its simply sublime, melodic beauty.

Ronstadt is praised by so many of the old school singers in opera, musical theather, blues, soul, easy listening, jazz etc. BECAUSE of the range of her vocals. Her extent of scale delivery means she can go low or deep and can hit the highest on the scale. I saw her after Heart Like A Wheel. I also saw her in Pirates in Penzance. The difference was so incredible. Pirates demanded a person who could speak in the song's lyrics as conversation as well as sing hitting operatic notes. Linda's vocal abilities have always placed her in the top 10 of histories best female singers. Look it up!

This concert footage was one of the better parts of the movie. The movie was alright but getting to see Linda, Jimmy Buffet, Tom Petty and REO Speedwagon was cool.

I appreciate their admiration for Linda. But, these performances were sub par. Maybe, I am just spoiled for Linda's amazing pipes.

Linda Ronstadt had a far richer voice than Carrie Underwood. What a treasure Linda is. We have her recordings thankfully to remember her sound.
@user-bs9ey8jj9h6 ай бұрын
Linda’s voice had power, and a certain nasal tone that made it unique from others. I think that is what gave her uniqueness in timbre.
