This is Rocky here. Dr. Cassidy was a blessing to the Church in the Philippines. I like the analogy of Castle building by planting a forest even if the planters would not see the finished castle. Confucius, obviously under the best (but sinful) use of general revelation said, "If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people." What I like about the Reformed Church is its willingness to train men into the ministerial task, and the commitment to maximize their competency into the trainers ' level.

Glad to hear of your work here in the Philippines. I'm from the CRCP and yes we're still here, lol. it's sad to admit that we are not as widespread as a denomination or even in the forefront of the resurgence of wanting to know Reformed Theology in the country. it's a great blessing to hear that there are many who are coming here to help teach and encourage but we do still need more. Hopefully the denomination can be involved in establishing a Reformed Seminary that's going to be helpful for many churches. God bless you brothers.

We are still a minority in the Christian community here but, yes, there is a growing curiousity and interest of it over here. I'd like to thank Jim's labor with us and among us early this year. His ministry among us is greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to seeing him return next year, Lord willing, to do more seminars and modular course on Reformed theology. It is true that there is a need for an onsite seminary with strong Reformed confessional conviction and qualified faculty members. We are trying to address the need but we know that we need some help from the brethren like you guys in the USA and from other parts of Europe. It may take another generation before the goal may be realized by the grace of God but we are praying that it will be accomplished in God's time. I have been reading a few people like Kline and Beale and i love how Vos also looks at redemptive-history the same way. It makes a huge difference how i interpret the Bible and i believe that preachers should teach how we are a new creation and how we should be heavenly minded. I don't see many theologians making this emphasis consistently. Reformed theology coming from old Prinston and WTS traces this line through Biblical theology.

But why must the inheritance to Israel not include the land? If everything of God, then why not the scrubby piece of land also? Or is that too much? Are we thinking as God Who promised, or as theologians who have inherited a system which has a stake in denying the land promises? Do we also deny the millennial kingdom because we are perhaps just a little too asetic? Why did not the Lord originally use Abram's line to Sarah, " You have Me!" But God specified the land promises. And as far as I have noticed, the sun and moon continue and the tide continues as before. Unless the sun, moon, and tides will become figurative also. Then the land promises still hold.
