Pilita's legacy spans many decades and she has been a pride of the Philippines. During the era when Filipinos only patronized English music, she was the first to record songs in filipino in the 60's and 70's and became hits. She started it. And soon thereafter OPM flourished in the 70's to the present. She won international award in Tokyo beating the legendary Olivia Newton John. She toured around the world with her talent. And she was the first filipina singer to perform in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and sang along with the Beatles and the legendary Sammy Davis Jr. and other well-known American singers. And the only filipina singer who can sing in Spanish, English, Tagalog, and Cebuano and produced a lot of albums. Her songs still live up to this day. Why is it hard for the Philippine government to confer her a National Artist Award? It is long overdue. How come Nora Aunor was given that award long time ago. What's the difference between her and Nora. Before the government give such a recognition to other filipino pride like Leah Salonga, give Pilita that award first while she is still alive as we know she is now in her 80s.

If you forgot the name of the singer, it is hard to locate this anymore in You Tube. It will not show you this version. Even if you Google it, it will show you a list of singers who had interpreted the song, but Michael Dees name is not listed. My goodness, this is the best version that I've heard.

Luis Miguel is one of the best. I love his interpretation of Noche De Ronda & Manana De Carnaval. He started as a kid. Try listening to Il Volo singing in spanish. They're Italian and they're very good (and funny too. Ha-ha). bedankt voor leuke reactie.
