What was exactly wrong with this car because you said it was the worst one on the internet when all you needed to upgrade was a rear diff mount and wasn't the Turbo worth what you paid for the car ?
@StevenDevey20 күн бұрын
I’m not really sure, it was just a lot of issues, oil leaks, diff mount, boost leaks, rust, tune wasn’t right for the set up

😂😂😂 So when did you blow up your engine ??? Mazda 2.5 only get into the 300 + tops . I call BS to 800 hp
@trilife939 күн бұрын
The Mazdaspeed 3 comes with a 2.3L that has a forged block. They come stock with 263hp, mine has 490hp @27.78psi of boost on a big turbo BNR S4 and E30 Tune. 800 is definitely achievable on a mazdaspeed, on a mazda ur sol though.

Recirculating is best for your engine and shifting,,, Atmosphere is not good for your ECU and turbo,,there will be wrong readings on your MAF and combustion.

@@StevenDevey It's okay - now - I went with feel, based on thread size and depth... All works great now. I did find the torque specs after the engine was running, luckly they were quite low and I know by feel, that I was a bit past that range.

If it helps - Exhaust Gas Recirculation valves redirect exhaust gases back into the intake to reduce the temperature in the combustion chamber, which reduces the temp of the catalytic converter in your exhaust. Back in the day when cat converters were first implemented to reduce emissions, the temps would end up that high in the exhaust that the catalytic converters would glow red hot, which ended up causing a different kind of pollution. They "fixed" this by redirecting the hot exhaust gases back through the intake, as the hot exhaust gas has minimal oxygen, so there's less bang in the combustion chamber, so less heat, which reduces the temps in the exhaust / cat converter. There's better ways to explain it, and I may have a few things backwards, but hopefully that made a little sense 😂😅.

Hey man really enjoy your videos. I just got a 2012 ms3 bone stock with 150k miles. I'm noticing a sulfur smell from exaust. No codes but I'm concerned the cats are going bad. Should I just keep driving it? Throw some kind of cat cleaner in the gas? Or chop it and go catless pipe? If I go catless, what will I need to do to make sure the car does not run lean? Is a catless setup gonna put my stock fuel pump under extra stress? Or is that really only an issue if I started putting "bigger" mods on like intake bigger turbo etc. I really want reliability so I was going to keep as stock as possible. Plus i just dont have time to be a full on car guy modding etc, The catless option was really just to save cost of replacing stock cat and I wouldn't mind a slightly louder sound.
@StevenDevey2 ай бұрын
I'd go catless but you need a tune and it's a good idea to get fuel pump internals as well, but if you can't afford it I'd just keep driving I don't think the smell is anyrhing

In regards to the middle dividers, if I remove them and make a variable length runner manifold, that would be far better than leaving them, right?
@StevenDevey3 ай бұрын
No not necessarily, people have removed them but it depends what your goal is. I believe from what I heard is if you remove them you lose velocity so low end torque will suffer, but if your goal is just top end power or high boost 35+ psi than you could remove them but from what I've seen and heard it's best to just make them thin like I did. Hopefully that helps

Whether this is dangerous or not has more to do with the turbo barring type and its general yield. Jounal barrings are notoriously weak to surge, or 'flutter', in most cases but not always. Old 7.3 powerstrokes run tp38's which are journal barring turbos with no bov or wastegate and they usually never have a problem. Rule of thumb is ceramic ball barring or 360 degree thrust barrings are the gold standard for standing up to turbo flutter
