I am unsure if some of you have tried this when you watch this but because we never use the boot keyhole, it sometimes sticks just at the point it releases the trunk. Your fingers might not have the strength so a pair of pliers to hold the key and turn it but if you feel you are putting too much pressure on the key then stop, I don't want you to break the key. The joy of the part that has gone is electrical so the key should work, its just the lock is seized a little and needs that extra tiny turn of the key.

How does charging work? How power is distributed between DC load and battery charging? For example if current is limited to 4A on buck converter and load consumes 3A. Will battery be charging at 1A or voltage drop will occur?

Hi Joe, did you consider removing the rear number plate and just drilling through the faulty Lock & using a screw driver to release the catch ?

is this a 5 gallon batch? Curious why you don't have the grain in earlier - getting some of the 'step inversion' at lower temps (even though most grains now are fine with 1 hour at 150f (sorry, don't know the centigrade conversion). I also thought the brewzilla had a sparge arm (though one would need to add water as you did) - maybe I confused it with a circulation arm during the boil?
@joewoodford9428Ай бұрын
Mash in temp in DegC typically should be in the range of 66 to 68 to get a good conversion. steeping for 1hr 30 mins (90mins) is usual. Step mash can also yield different sugars and flavours. It is all personal choice in the end. Hitting the grain at these temps means you can get some consistency in the final ABV and flavours of the beer.

On the soft close mechanism, hidden behind a sponge like membrane inside a hole. Tear out the sponge and you will find a yellow torque receiver. Get a tool and turn it. The boot will open. Then the boot works fine, without the soft closing.... Thats a good thing. :)) So you definitely got ripped off on a few levels. Sorry man.

You then might need turn off the whole house supply. Usually the stop tape is under the main kitchen sink in a modern house. This should then shut off the cold feed completely to the house.

I have had the locking fault rectified, now after a few months the actual door handle doesn't open the door, seems like it's not pulling anything... Any suggestions?
@joewoodford94282 ай бұрын
unfortunately I don’t have the Freelander 2 anymore. My best guess would be the cable (which looks like a bicycle break cable) may have come off the lock mechanism or failed. Something like this www.lrparts.net/lr019819-internal-door-release-cable-for-freelander-2-from-inner-handle-to-latch-genuine-land-rover.html.

Great video mate, but just for anybody else who wants to try this it can be done easily with the headlights in situ. Drivers side being easiest. Get your fingers on the securing clamp and twist it, the unit is easy then to get out with plenty of length on the cable, change the clamp over and put the bulb unit back in place and twist shut. NS remove air box and intake parts, loosen air con pipe bolt to give a little wiggle room, also lower plastic clamp. Repeat the light removal as the other side, little tighter but easy enough. Changed oth xenons to LED in 40mins

I have 2012 XF 5L, no idea if before or after "Facelift". Is there any specific difference with the "Facelift" that would require removing bumper (as most references I can find insist you must do). Definitely prefer to try without removing headlamp. How difficult is removing air box and intake for passenger side?

I have a megaflo and when I turn a hot tap on then off again, I get a loud vibration and juddering, like water hammer, coming from the tank pipework (hot water outlet pipe on the tank). If I open a tap lower in the system the noise stops, almost like dissipating pressure. Do you think this expansion air gap is the cause of this trouble? If not, what do you think is causing it?
@stefanmaddock55163 ай бұрын
From what you saw, woukd replacing just the motor be a viable option? Same specs, but better quality. The idea of buying a whole cheap replacement vs just replacing the electric motors.
@joewoodford94283 ай бұрын
Yes you could do this, however it is the worm gear which might be a challenge to get off. One other method is to replace the carbon bushes and arms within the motor. They look like cheap hobby motors! Probably made in china though the whole unit is made in Germany. So much for German engineering as they have used very cheap parts. I guess the motor would have cost about €2 (at most).

I'd say from the problem you have on the screen it the TCON board, this was what i found was an issue on my as mention about 2mins in to the video. I'd start with that first as you appear to have just half the screen working. I'm not a TV repairer just a good DIYer.
