Hi Shashank, all of the above are good universities. In Germany, the companies do not differentiate a lot between the local universities so you should select the university where you find the course the best, or the location around which you want to find the final job. Also, try to learn German language if you plan to work in Germany. It will help a lot. Best of luck 😊👍

If you study MBA in Germany and want to directly work in India, it won’t give you much advantage compared to MBAs in India. Rather if compared to top MBAs in India (IIM, ISB), you will be even at a disadvantage in terms of job opportunities in India. This is because the brand value of IIM, ISB or other top Indian institutes is way more recognized in India and they have a very solid on campus placement support and network.

hey Rohit just a small question. When you did mba from iim C then why you chose to do mim again from Germany. you could have gone for student exchange if want to study abroad or just had worked at germany with a brand name of IIM. can you please explain ❤
@rohitthe14th
@rohitthe14th 8 ай бұрын
Hi Maverick, some of my friends did what you said and that is a good way too. For me, Student exchange was around 4-5 lacs extra and I didn’t want to take a bank loan to do that. There are less international job offers even at IIMs so landing in your favorite international location depends on your luck and patience. Doing a proper degree has many benefits. You choose your location and time. It gives you time to culturally integrate and create natural social networks. Your degree is more recognized in the local market compared to Indian degrees. You get more time and exposure to learn the new language. And of-course It is a lot of fun to be a student again 😍

Hi Subham, i think I already replied to you on Linkedin. Still repeating the answer here for general benefit :) I think if you are a good software engineer, you have a high chance of getting a job/ internship/ working student position in Germany during / after MBA based on tech skills. If I have to point out a few main skills on top of what you bring as a software engineer, I will say German language skills, helpful / problem solving nature, and cultural appropriateness. Best of luck :)

I think if you want to settle in Germany, the biggest skill which will help you is speaking the German language. MBA is more like a signaling degree in my opinion. Hey Rohit, Hope you are doing well, I am currently a 3rd Year BCom student at a tier 2 college in bangalore and i want to pursue a career in Finance/Consulting and i was heavily considering mannheim's MiM program. I did a few internships in business development and marketing domain and im afraid that those would be pointless baring a few skill overlaps with consult/fin. I currently have A2 German certficate from goethe but im planning to complete B2 by the time i apply. I wanted to know if i had any chance of making it to mannheim considering i do well in GMAT (700+) and even if i did would it be possible to secure a consulting/finance job without any real experience.
@rohitthe14th
@rohitthe14th 9 ай бұрын
Hi Techion, assuming you have a decent graduation percentage, a good GMAT score (720+) will get you in the program. For ex. I got in the Mannheim MIM english track with 720 GMAT + 70% graduation marks. For consulting / fin jobs, you should first try for internships while studying in Mannheim. Depending on the role in fin/consulting and the firm you want, it will be easy or difficult to get an internship and eventually a job. Strat. Consulting such as MBB (Mck, Bain, BCG) are more difficult than others. Also many roles will look for very good German language skills.

Do Manheim University take engineer grads in their mim program? I checked their eligibility criteria and its clearly mentioned that you should have studied undergrad in business field and atleast have 36 ects in business subject. Can you please clear this doubt and explain how you got an admit as an engineering grad or did they gave you a special admit cause of you iim tag?
@rohitthe14th
@rohitthe14th 9 ай бұрын
In my experience, in Germany you can easily switch between various fields if you have required credits. So, even as engineer, you can get into most business courses including mannheim MIM if you have the required 36 ECTS. I had 36 ECTS as I took a few business courses in DCE during my engineering bachelors. To be fair to all, uni mannheim had a policy to not consider master degree credits in selection for master in management program. So, my IIM degree credits ( also a masters program) were not considered in selection.

Hi Vishnu, I think the min. Work ex required is 3 years for Mannheim Business School MBA. Other universities might have 2 or 3 yr as requirement for MBA as well. They don’t care if it is govt. or private, but during job search it is more helpful if your previous job was in something which Germans can relate to. For example in a world famous MNC, some German company, some very known work areas like IT, Data Science etc. The less they can understand what you did, the less relevance they will give to your work experience.

In general, yes, MIM has a younger crowd and many freshers. I guess, most of them are 22 to 26 yrs old when they start the course. But there is no where written that you can’t study MIM at 28 yrs old. I even met a few (when I was studying) who were 30+ yrs old and in MIM. In germany, nobody cares much about a few years here and there. Here people are more individualistic and decide whatever suits them best. Still, if you are overly concerned with you being older, you can go for MBA where you will be on the younger side of the batch 😄

Well, if you just have 7 months, I will suggest you to use it to improve your German language as much as possible. C2 will be impossible so, you can still apply in the English track and hope for the best. In application, I will recommend that you should try to put evidences proving your familiarity and skills w.r.t. the course, language and culture. So internship in German companies, experience with German culture etc. all helps formally or informally to strengthen your case. But please be sure that you can prove them accordingly. European universities don’t like inflated CVs with no proof backing up the claims. Best of luck.

Just on basis of job possibility (without German language skills) I will say Supply Chain>Finance>Marketing>HR. What is MEM? Can you please tell me the full-form?

@@rohitthe14th MEM is masters in engineering management this course is available at TUM . I have 😅 two more question? 1. It is said that if you are from background other than commerce and finance for like engineering stream then there is zero chances that you will get an acceptance from Mannheim , is it true ? 2.Apart from TUM AND MANNHEIM what other universities one should apply in Germany for MIM ?

In Mannheim it is possible, I am an engineer and still could get in Mannheim MIM. TUM is exclusive to engineers I remember, but I do not know the latest information on that. You can check on their program website for latest details. MIM in bigger cities such as Frankfurt, Köln etc. are all good options. Best of luck :)

Hi Umair, glad the videos could help. In 2016, the main deciding factors for selection were: Language track, international experience (internship etc.), GMAT score and Graduation grades. In English Track (my track), most students had either a good GMAT (700+) or an international exchange with avg. GMAT (650-700). Irrespective of the track, all students used to attend classes together depending on your available track course options. Most students were from non-engineering background and the class was very internationally and gender diverse (Germans, Asians, North / South Americans, Europeans).

I hope without a decent language skills it is difficult to get a job in Germany. May I know how you overcame the language barrier ?

Hi Adithya, yes, it can be difficult to find a job, especially if you are non - IT and can't speak German. It is a long story how I learnt the language on my own, but the main result was that I could speak at B2 level already by the time I graduated in 2 years :)

Hi Rohit , Landed on your channel today and very informative video . I have total 10 years of work experience in IT and planning to pursue MBA in germany considering the cost and EU exposure.. which one is better MIM or MBA ?

I personally like MIM more because it gives you two years to settle in a new culture and is money wise low risk (low fee). For you, if you would rather save one year and get into german job market faster, you should go for MBA. Also, in MBA you will have a higher chances of negotiating for a higher entry salary. With MIM, you can get high salaries but negotiation is way more difficult as MIM is mostly considered a less work ex. course.
