Man, it is not a Pörk, it is Pirc. The pronunciation is like saying piss, but you say pirts. C in many languages like the Czech language is pronounced "ts" like in "Whatsup?"

I have just talked with a well-know GM from Canada yesterday, who is a blogger, and he thinks we should learn to correctly pronounce the chess terms/names of famous players etc.

@@pullupterraine199 that is how language develops my friend. You and your Canadian GM can think what you like but you can't police language. It's common with football commentators, they agree they pronounce the names wrong but go with how it would be pronounced in English. This is accepted by the players themselves.
