Nice one mate. I am interested in buying a Walnut Ric but I dunno.. I prefer Lemmy's tone with his Mapleglo Ric's honestly. Seems like you can't get a trebly sound out of these Walnut ones.

You can be you're right, less so with the satin finish. The feel of the neck and the looks make its worth it in my opinion. One thing Ricks don't lack in general in treble. Also I was using effects on it and adding bass through a Trace Elliot Transit B

I have heard this tune for years , and it was not till I saw it live and saw Ian play it I appreciated how Ian's bass added to it. With two guitars and Robs vocals it gets kind of buried in the background. Appreciate this cover.

Excellent play! Altough I play a lot of funk music, I struggle a lot playing this song and others by acdc. I always think its gonna be easy cause the notes are simple, but I struggle making my sound regular and consistent

Spot on, these bass lines are deceptively easy. For example hitting the strongs on an up versus down stroke can make a huge difference

@@olivierslupik400 idk man I play finger style most the time, but there are bass players whose style definitely demands it like also Duff McKagan, Lemmy, Dave Ellefson. But not all Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, Steve Digiorgio, Tom Hamilton are definitely finger style

@@NXPBass thanks for letting me know, I ordered a new one and I was looking at this bridge issue thinking I needed an aftermarket part. Upon further research I realized that Rickenbacker has addressed this issue themselves and have started putting a version 2 bridge on their 4003 basses. I don't think an aftermarket part is necessary now but thank you

Excellent. Who said Nikki Sixx doesn't plat they Bass, who said that. IMO, that is their best album bar none. I need that today-I really did. I required something music wise to get me going. By the way, that is a fine Thunderbird. Thanks, and take care.

Specter is a more superior bass. More growl it's thicker and it has sparkly top The g&l sounds like p Bass and a music Man combined

Excellent comparison! Two questions - does the Babicz bridge really bring much to the tone, and would you put flats on the Rick? Thanks!

Thanks so much! The Babicz is more about the ability to setup intonation and action more easily and precisely. It may add a little more depth to the tone but i don't think it's obvious enough especially once it's in the mix with other instruments. And no I would never put flat. The Walnut sounds quite smooth compared to other Ricks, if anything I've been enjoying strings with a little more grit like D'Addario Nickels sound surprisingly good on it

Great comparison video. To my ear Euro 4 LX sounds more wide and open than Euro 5 LX. Am i only one who noticed it or its just me? Thanks for the effort!

They're very different pickups. To me the 4 LX sounds brighter and cleaner but sometimes also a little too dry. The soapbars allow you to switch between humbucker and single coil which is why I ended up getting a Euro 4 LX TW

I've never had one with Barts but I really love these EMG with the push pull between humbuckers vs single coil. Main reason I got my black four strings

It had unbranded P and J pickups similar to DI Marzio originally. I've now upgraded to EMG active PJX and got it routed for an EMG BTS preamp.

@@j.c1574 not sure exactly. So it's heavier than a mahogany Thunderbird but lighter than a maple Spector, even a contoured one
