I too live in Wilmington since 2004, I recommend a Berkey water purification system. I’ve had mine for almost 10 years and I love it! I take the water straight from the tap and put it right into the Berkey and it tastes amazing.

What stores are nearby? I’ve been to Brunswick Forest - plenty of shopping ( grocery stores ,etc)near there .
@janroggeman1stClass5 күн бұрын
Compass Pointe is a little bit removed from shopping etc. It's not like Brunswick Forest with stores attached to the community. You'll have to drive about 7.5 miles to get to an area with more stores.

It's relative. Depending on where you are coming from it may be better or worse. You can look at neighborhoodscout.com or crimegrade.org or something else like those sites to determine your personal comfort level. I've got children and worry is not something that plays on my mind.

We are considering a 5 year plan to move from CT. We have a window of opportunity at that point where my family would all be willing and able to relocate. My husband is self employed as a consultant in the medical device industry. My oldest is in the same field and my youngest will be a chiropractor. Parents are retired. CT is out of control expensive and dreary 5-6 months out of the year. We are all just tired of it. Quality of life matters. So we are trying to locate a place where we can settle multiple generations of our family where we can have better quality of living, more affordable housing, lower crime & good schools.
@janroggeman1stClass2 ай бұрын
Oh, I understand you very well. We went through a similar experience. The decision is exciting, scary and rewarding. Have you visited the area?
@MermaidBBW2 ай бұрын
We need to. My son just visited and loved it. We have to plan some trips to the places we have interest in and do some research. A close suburb with new construction in a nice community with some property is what we will be seeking. Are they building these homes to be more hurricane resistant, is there flooding, are there areas where crime rate is low?
@janroggeman1stClass2 ай бұрын
@@MermaidBBW A new community is a great way to to make a move. Everybody is in the same situation, new to that development, and you'll find it easy to meet people. Building codes are enforced for our climate and weather. As for flooding, that is a question to ask per house or location. Some areas have higher risk. On property can be in a flood zone and the neighboring property not. In terms of crime, there are plenty of maps that provide statistics. You can easily search that information. I hope this helps!
