Nah you can make the tbr7 or the kpx work at 5'8... but if it's your first bike, I'd find a way to lower it, or practice on a different bike. It's a lot easier to ride a tall bike once you have motorcycles figured out.. it's hard to learn when you can't flat foot the bike.

I just got my 2023 date of manufacture KPX250. Just got it running yesterday. Idle seems rather weak.. no torque at all till maybe 1800 RPM. It might be improving over time, or I'm naturally adjusting to it. I only have 15 miles so far. I may have a newer flash version from the factory? Should I look into a Reflash? One stickey clutch/No Friction Point to start.. I slipped it a bit, and is better now. The engine braking when you let off the throttle is something you need to anticipate, especially at low RPM. Brakes need some breakin too.

What I want to know, is why the USA can't build and sell a motorcycle like this for a competitive price. The economy is a mess; gas, groceries, damned near everything costs more than it should, who can afford to buy a Japanese motorcycle on a working man's salary? It's not like we don't have the know how, or the means. I keep hearing the slogans "Buy American!", "America First!", who the hell can afford it? The Chinese stole the tech from the Japanese, because the communist mindset is why should we waste time doing it when the capitalists will do it for us. Honestly, some entrepreneur in the USA should do the same thing to the Chinese. Until the he USA can build and sell a competitive bike like this, I don't blame anyone for buying Chinese goods. Don't give me any of that slave labor crap either. The tech for manufacturing something this good already exists, robot welders, assembly lines etc. It could, and can be done, it's a simple machine. To the best of my knowledge, the USA doesn't build ANY dirt or dual sport motorcycles.I know, some right wing ranter is going to crawl up my back about enabling "OUR ENEMIES", but I don't give a damn. I would say not worth it. Chinese ccp bikes claim are clones of different manufacturers, honda, yamaha etc but they are not swappable clones that use same parts. When they break, you are out of luck. Just get an old name brand bike that cost the same as this new ccp junk, then you can still find parts for authentic bikes. Stop supporting chinese communism. There are hardly used honda, yamaha, kawasaki bikes for same price .
@dadbodbikers3 ай бұрын
I disagree on not being able to find parts. Lifan actually has a dealer network in the US. On top of that, most of the parts I need I purchase off of Amazon or buy the Kawasaki alternative (I get my oil filters at the kawi dealer). I also think the quality has greatly changed over the years. We're approaching 4 and 5000 miles on these (75% of that offroad) and have had almost no unscheduled maintenance on these bikes. We aren't easy on them and they hold up well. I don't disagree that supporting CCP isn't good.. but Lifan has an American subsidiary, so it's like saying you're supporting the CCP by buying an Apple iPhone.. not technically untrue, but also not a direct correlation. Lifan America has been great to me and everyone else who's had issues. I did look for a good bike for the same price, but had a lot of trouble getting something I'd trust to drive on road on the highways, then off road, hundreds of miles from Georgia to Kentucky and back, for under $3,000. Again, don't wanna make it political about the CCP and their weird control over companies.. just saying this is a quality bike, brand new, for $3k that has treated me well. To each his own.. and if you have a $4500 budget instead of $3000, then a used Kawi/Yamaha dual sport may be a better fit, this just fit my budget for a toy.
