from my observation of crocadillians today. It seems they may simply have to have had a bite force that allowed them to hold on to prey long enough to drown it rather than tear strips or chuncks of it while still alive. Crocodiles in Australia still drown their prey, but use a tactic called a "death roll", (oops you just mentioned that) in which they simply grab prey, then twist their body over and over and over to disorientate their prey as they take it under water.

If the lions were decimated there’d still be 90% of them left. Devastated or destroyed would be more accurate.

"So today, I came across a venomous lizard the size of a small family car that was fighting a three and a half ton hyper wombat." "And what did you do?" "Nothing. Out here, we just call it an average Tuesday."

That Jurrasic World scene with the Indominus taking an ankylosaurus's club swing to the f*cking face and shrugging it off like it was nothing was absurd. This kind of complete lack of realisticness is partly why these newer Jurassic Park movies are difficult to take seriously. They don't show you animals acting like animals. They show you invincible monsters acting like Hollywood monsters.

Interesting that it had such a limited range. That probably means that there are extinct species like this around the world waiting for someone to discover their fossilized remains, but if the potential area is so small then we may never find them.

I quick distinction for everyone that's rather important. The size of a character in Egyptian art has nothing to do with their size4 in reality. People, objects, and animals are made larger or small relative the their importance to the scene depicted or to denote status.

We really assume that there were billions of dinosaurs but only have 11000 fossils with most of those fossils being single bone pieces. How do we know that there were so many? I know the odds of something being turned into a fossil are astronomically low.

I’m not sure if you or anyone else will see this, but I want to say thank you for this video. It’s helped me so much in crafting my depiction of Tylosaurus in a short story I’ve been working on set in the Niobrara Formation. The skin impressions info is absolute chef’s kiss cause I didn’t even know that was discovered till watching this. Love the content as always, so keep up the good work.

The evolution of these animals actually makes quite a lot of sense, they fought each other with their clubs, to compete for things like mates, while also needing to be HIT by said clubs. Perhaps leading to clubs getting bigger and armor becoming stronger. Kind of like how deer rut for mates, and in animals who do rut, the things they use to fight often get bigger and bigger, leading to a more specialized version of whatever body part they use. It's amazing how nature has these systems for weeding out certain genes and keeping evolution going. Of course no concrete evidence for anything here we're all just looking at old bones. Edit* AHH FUCK HE HAD DEERS IN THE VIDEO TOO AS AN EXAMPLE I THOUGHT I WAS SMART FOR CONNECTING THE DOTS :(
