Hopefully you have footage of the Mens Eight last 500M? Italy made a huge charge on the Canadians, unfortunately the world rowing coverage didnt have a good camera angle.

A bit complex but if Slovenia choose the woman’s single scull to qualify for the Olympics over the men’s single who also got the 3rd quali spot, given the Serbians have qualified the double would that forfeited Serbian men’s single spot go to the Slovenian men’s single?

The SLO W1x came 3rd so she will go rather than the M1x. HUN will go to the M1x and MON should take the SRB reallocated place.

At 4:00 it is 20 seconds instead of 10. Because they convert your time back to the 250m split time and award 1 point for every second. The crew with the least amount of points wins. Great video though!

If you have a wildcard boat which comes in and beats the selected boat (well, selected from previous trials, squad camps, etc.), do you seat-race members of the former against the latter or do you just take the wildcard boat as is? You're right that this seem crazy to a Briton 😄

Love the coverage Eamon!! Thanks for making this, there wouldnt be any chance of getting interviews from people after the race? Or is that not the vibe at speed orders? Its cool to see US rowing having these trials somewhat open to media and getting to see the times etc.
@TheRowingNetwork
@TheRowingNetwork 6 ай бұрын
Cheers, Jack! Definitely different than what I heard happens over in the UK. While getting interviews was possible, I was running around helping out where I could and stopping people for interviews was not quite the right vibe for what I was doing myself unfortunately. Will be getting lots of interviews during the official US Olympic Trials at the beginning of April (because of the restrictive NBC broadcast rights).

So good that this film is raising money for great causes. In Joe Rantz's hometown of Sequim, WA (where his family abandoned him as a teenager, where I currently live, and where the film was pre-screened on Dec. 8) a Rotary Club fund has been set up to honor Joe's legacy. The Joe Rantz Rotary Youth Fund was conceived in 2018 by the Sequim Sunrise Rotary club after The Boys in the Boat book was released. Rantz is the central character in the book which chronicles his struggles through life in his early years in Sequim, culminating with his Olympic gold medal win at Berlin in 1936. The club wanted to do something in his name. The Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club began discussing Joe’s past, today’s homeless youth in Sequim, and the huge need to help them. The goal of the Joe Rantz Rotary Youth Fund is to create a home for Sequim’s homeless youth - the Joe Rantz Rotary Youth House. The club was proud to raise the first $28,000 towards the JRRY House, and now turns to the community to join in honoring Joe, while helping the homeless youth of Sequim. Rotary is a 501c-3 charity, donations are tax-deductible. Total fundraising goal for the JRRY house is $750,000.
