Awesome cover mate! Interesting to hear it with more of a Mark King tone from the Jaydee. I do think you're gonna have to get an Atelier Z at some point covering all these Tomohito Bass lines! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've had Fifth Demension on replay for a few months now. Its such a bad ass album. Break Out is a killer track, but Tones and Saftey Zone are my favs. Looking forward to seeing what you cover next!

I’m not sure if it’s the tone of the Jaydee or your style but you could be easily fooled in to thinking this was Kinger, or even the whole band playing this if you didn’t know any different. Looks like it’s a killer to play Lee. Awesome

even tho japan were absolutely leading the way with their digital studios think the 1st shock waves of fusion distant overseas was from Scandinavia aka " Icelandic Funk " Japan have been contenders since at least 1978

Real work out this bassline! You played it fantastically! Photographs is one of my favourite Casiopea albums. I really like Dazzling and Spice Road off the album. Nice playing mate, and that's a sweet sounding bass.

If your into your Jazz fusion, checkout DIMENSION. Tomohito Aoki played on a lot of their albums, and he's a killer bass player. He was the bass player for Toshiki Kadomatsu (who I see your covered a number of his tracks!)

Didnt Mark King use that style of bass back in the day?
@LeeTavMusic15 күн бұрын
@@DuffTV certainly did! It’s a replica of the 0003SA model used to record the first few Level 42 albums and played live until about 1985 🙌💪 thanks for watching 😎👍

I live in Japan, I am an Ex-pat and I have been a fan for years they are by far THE MOST underrated band ever on the Jazz-funk scene, the majority of Japanese I know never heard of this band and even when they listen, they are surprised that a Japanese band plays this funky. Sakurai is a beast in his own right, I too, love to listen to the old nostalgic music. Japan for the most part with the J-pop craze is just crap IMHO, my kid loves it, but all the music from the late 70s and 80s in Japan is just tight as hell. Thanks for bringing this piece back to life, glad there are people outside of Japan that love their music! Keepslappin! :)

nice tight sound ,, fantastic intervals, transition points great recording level .. technical , think this goes into mark king could have slipped away into the world of advanced fusion, yet somehow stayed loyal to the soul boy Chris Hill "all dayer" type origin of level 42 what bass it that lee ?

@@LeeTavMusic looks like a stanley clarke, bass, twin octave+ Olympic ;D i don't know much about gear yet Brit Funk 1976- with exception by default of a few, was a anti Fender area- basically a very early prototype of these kinds of basses is a bass called "Dan Armstrong" another bass was the custom built Kramers " the best has to be the Hayman 4040 ,, Mark King working in a shop put it all together & made, or found a bass with all of these qualities . & obviously more cheers lee

Just wanted to say thsi video popped up on my feed because I've been listening to a lot of Louis Cole lately and like bass covers, started listening and thought "... i recognise this guy," and I had a sudden vivid flashback to about fifteen years ago watching you slap on Super Mario and Sonic themes and loving it. So glad to see you're still fighting the good fight, much love and respect.

Super cool, you nailed it 🎸 😊 This concert tour in 1985 was L42's peak in fusion pop funk, to me. Though they had some interesting song in later years, too, this was really their hottest time 🔥 So, if you could please bass cover the entire live album 😂
