And my best grocery money-saving tip is to MAKE A LIST and plan out your menu before you even walk through the door of the grocery store!

Hi love this video. Today alot people live above their means and always strive for what others have. For me, since my 20's , I have always lived within or below my means and have been perfectly happy! I don't need a fancy car, or go on expensive vacations. I have a beautiful, paid for house, that is filled with thrifted finds, hand me downs and curb side finds, and I simply love it. I have learned to slow down, and live my life nobody else's. More young people need to learn this. Perhaps there would be less anxiety in the world.

Hey my friend! We're single income also. I did work for many years.. until i started having some health issues about 7yrs ago. But Gods always blessed & kept us! For years I would go get my nails done, when i worked. But for the last 6+years i've kept my own nails done, with potted press/glue on nails! You rarely see me without them! Lol i just love my nails 🤷‍♀️ And the last almost as long as salon nails & a fourth of the price😉 I get alot from Walmart & love that new line they've started carrying, can't remember the name, but they're in a round package. those last really well. I also get alot from Walgreen's, & sometimes CVS. But I find the biggest & best selection at Walgreen's! They have some good ones at Ulta too, but some, depending on the brand, can be a little higher in price. Girl I never pay full price for clothing in the higher price stores, i go straight to the clearance racks! But honestly, i get alot of my clothes from Walmart & thrifting. Now if we go to the mall, i may find something i really like but usually i look pretty much at the things on sale, it clearance. I just don't the the need to pay high prices for clothing🤷‍♀️ Besides I like to have alot of clothes, the cheaper the more i get😄 Lol I really did use to think this way, i don't buy clothes like i used to & got rid of much more than i kept when we moved. I rather spend my money thrifting & antiquing😁 Honey groceries are HIGH.. period!! Its hard to save on food & household products. I buy mostly store brand, but there's certain things i won't compromise on.. mostly household things. And you're exactly right.. Joy, real true joy, comes from the Lord🙌🏻 He carries me, and my family, thru daily and that's where i find my peace, comfort, strength and joy! We love our home and thankful for it, we have two little doggies. I can relate about being a homebody. Both my husband and I enjoy spending time at home. When we were both working fulltime, it was easier for us to do some traveling then and I am very grateful we were able to do the traveling that we have, but we are more apt to do something local anymore. We are also living on one income. I haven't worked outside the home for quite some time and health issues have been a factor as time went on. It's part of life and I feel I am lucky to be here and surely God had something to do with that. I am grateful every day for what we have. I love our old 1941 built house and I am satisfied with what I have but my weakness is books. Preferably used as they are more affordable and the library is a great option, but I prefer to own them for future rereading, if I choose, and I am very hard on books. I would owe the library a fortune for damaged books. I don't have any great advice on saving money on groceries other than to buy what is in season. Out of season, not only costs more, but it also doesn't taste as good. Ignore chips and buy popcorn, to pop yourself and add different toppings. But tea bags and make your own iced tea. Whatever you can do yourself, rather than buy prepared, usually will save you money. Most people don't want to sacrifice the time it takes to make some things. It used to be bread was so cheap, there was no point in making your own but if you have a large family, I think making your bread would save a lot of money. Also, buy whole milk and add water to it. You end up making your own 1%, 2% or skim (somewhat) based on the amount of water you use. I don't know if that would work with plant-based or nut-based milks like almond milk etc. as I've never tried it. Make your own granola - way cheaper than buying it. Strech hamburger by adding ground up cooked beans. I prefer black beans when I do it. Use less meat when making soups. Load the soups up with vegetables instead. These are just things I automatically have been known to do. I don't do all of them anymore, but I still do several, sometimes just because I'm short on something else. 😅

That was a great deal on the coffee table and end tables. A lot of people don't like "wood" furniture in its natural state or stained. They want to paint everything. Back in the 50's, my mom said that everyone was painting their woodwork and trim with glossy white paint to make their homes look newer and refreshed. 25, 30 years later and everyone was trying to get that horrible glossy white paint stripped off the woodwork and trim. I expect, eventually, people will be trying to strip the paint off the furniture of today. I happen to love wood. I prefer it to painted furniture. I think it's fine to paint something that is really damaged and can't be brought back to its former self, but otherwise, a good cleaning and some wax or furniture polish wakes up wood furniture. I would look for what are actually called coffee table books. Larger size and usually have beautiful photos of nature or similar. Some people sit things on the books in lieu of a tray, although you have room for both on your coffee table. Some nice coasters to keep your table safe would be good. Anything on the lower side, rather than tall, because it interferes with your view from one sofa to someone sitting on the other sofa. I think your coiled candle would look good on the other end table and I love the elephants and the carousel on the other end table. A lamp would be nice too. You have added flat surfaces to decorate. That is something I am short of and also, with 4 cats, I have to be careful what I decorate with. They think I do it for them and have to check things out real close before giving their approval.

Great deal on the tables! I love the legs & trim details, very pretty! They look really nice where you placed them. I really love the tea tray, its beautiful!! Can't wait to see where you place it & style it! Do you have any coffee table books or larger books? They would look nice on the coffee table, also the large bible you bought would be really pretty on it with maybe a small plant or a candle sitting a doilie. Or if you have A basket or small wood box you could use that & put remotes or coasters in it along with the books or bible. A pretty lamp would be nice on the a side table or a matching pair, one on each. You'll figure it out tho, keep trying things til your satisfied! I get inspo from watching the Utube videos. We're staying with my son & his wife while we're looking for a home. They have A Frenchie that's white with black spots..girrrrl the amount of white dog hair that comes off that dog is unbelievable😳 They only have carpet in the bedrooms, i don't let him come in my room at all! Same here.. love the soft, warm glow of a lamp. That's basically all I use in my living room & bedroom, but i like to put small ones in all the rooms for that soft glow. Also, if you have a lamp with a glass shade, like the oil lamps that are actually electric.. using a amber LED bulb is so pretty, gives the prettiest ambiance to a room. I keep one in the bedroom, so cozy on a cold night! (Lol sounds like I'm setting a scene for a video or something😄) Although I don't think I'll be having those cold nights much anymore🫤 What dog you make your detergent with? I see that alot of people are starting to make the own detergent, even dish detergent & soaps as well. Love your label maker! The laundry room looks really nice Mikaila! Its always much nicer when things are organized..i just have a habit of letting it get out of hand to easily🫣 I always enjoy your videos..i pray you have a blessed wkend🙏🏻
