My mother grew up in Grimsby, and has a lot of stories about what they experienced during WWII. Her father was injured by a butterfly bomb while he was on patrol one night. The prison camp with foreign soldiers mentioned in the video were probably the Italian POWs she talked about. She met and married an American soldier, who was my father. She will turn 100 next month.

Honestly man this was one of the Best WOTW Fan Made trailers I've ever seen. I remember watching this Particular trailer all the way back in 2012 and Wishing we could have gone a Film taking place during the 2005 film. This and the other well Known fan made 2014 WOTW Trailer Truly made me wish we got a new film with these tripods Long Comment aside i wanna say Thanks for the memories man I remember being blown away by the CGI and it still holds up :)

It's not fake it's fan made, the actors are real, the cgi was made for this trailer... took a lot of people a lot of hours to make this little film... Maybe @UberPodfan you should spread love instead of posting shit comments...

Hmm... I don't know about that music. I mean it's nice. It's great moving music. But I am uncomfortable being manipulated by it. Those bomber guys burned several German cities to the ground. Countless civilians perished in massive firestorms. And then you play that music to that scenario. I am not a fan. But it's a good interview. A valuable source for historic research.

The film wasn't made for you tube, the sound mix was fine at the cinema, on the TV and on the dvd. You tubes compression when uploading flatters the audio out. It's beyond our control.

A close friend of my late father was a DUKW driver during the Anzio beach landings. This particular day, the DUKW he was assigned to drive hadn't been prepared properly. The procedure was that waterproof bungs were to be fitted to the chassis before entering the water, and removed when coming ashore (to let any water out). The DUKW my dad's friend was driving had the bungs removed from the previous day and not replaced. It got lower and lower in the water with each trip, and finally sank from under him half-way back on the 3rd trip out to the supply ship. I wonder if it's still there on the seabed?.

I knew a chap who was Ground crew in Bomber Command who was then transferred to the army and ended up in Burma. He lost all of his hair when aJap tank straddled his slit trench.

Great Trailer! Well actually it's even better than some of the other adaptations 👍. But seeing the 05' Tripod and the H.G Wells Cylinder in the same place is a little weird but fun. 😀 If you had such a visual effects talent in 2010, I can't imagine how it would be if you made the same trailer now. 😅

Coming from 2023 there is better CGI now but considering this was more than 5 years ago i guess this was the best of cgi back then

Thank you very much, for your kind words. Usually people just comment on the title, thinking we're stupid because we missed an r out of worlds. We are pleased with the 2 trailers. Not bad for about £150 - £200 budget, and our first real venture into filmmaking. One of the exec producers of the Spielberg film got in touch way back in 2010. He was cool.

'Would love to hear a re-edit without the "dramatic" music. We olde folke do at times have problems hearing the essence that is being overpowered by the non-informative.
