I remember hearing this song on a family trip at Sedona. I had finished summer school, felt stupid, and was coming out of probably the lowest point in my life so far. But it didn’t matter cause my Cousin and his gf came to AZ and we were going to Sedona! While there I remember finding this song, and it spoke to me. The lyrics just spoke to me. after Sedona we went to California, LA. I had always wanted to visit and there I was! After LA I made a conscious decision to make a change in my life, go on a diet and work out everyday when I got back to AZ. I kept that promise, lost around 45 pounds and even focused up in school. That was all almost a year ago now, and I owe a lot of that work to this song. Every time I felt bad I would put on this song and listen to the poetic words while always remembering “When the Going Gets Tuff, that the labor of our love, will reward us soon enough.”

It's funny that I discovered this band because of American Dad. They introduced me to My Morning Jacket, would didn't take long for KZfaq Music to go from them to the Growlers. To think of it, if I had a nickel for every band American Dad has directly introduced me to (My Morning Jacket and Waxfang), I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's still wild a Seth MacFarlane show expanded my music taste whatsoever.
