What year is this? My mother just passed away out of the blue unfortunately and she had, that i now have, a garage kept 1989 Mazda 626 with only 71,000 miles on it. Its in almost perfect shape, and i almost feel her presence when i sit in it, and I want to make sure to take care of it. First project has been to convert it from r12 to r134a, because that was one issue. R12 is definitely hard to get. But i was just wondering if the cabin air filter is in the same spot on a 1989. Thanks so much. New to your channel but definitely a new subscriber. All the best and thank you

Can glow plugs throw up the dpf light? My dpf light has came on intermittently this week I've ran it twice decent runs between 2500/3000 and at times it's went off but then came back om no other issues such as limp mode etc It was off yesterday but took it to someone I know with a good code reader, nothing dpf related flagged up but 2 glow plugs and something to do with climate control did, reckon thats cause I've no had it regassed Dpf light came back on there so just wondering what it could be if a reader isn't bringing anything up?

My check engine light came on, I removed the battery terminals, I also scanned the error with a scanner, and the check light still comes back on. Honda 3 engine 2.4. or maybe I filled it with bad gasoline. the car runs on LPG and so far I used half a tank of gasoline and the check caught fire. I filled up with expensive gasoline 98 octane and then I thought that it is often not taken and it could stagnate and be of poor quality, what do you think
@MiracleMAX21 күн бұрын
What was the fault code? Do you normally run it on LPG or petrol? How often do you run the engine on petrol? Have you changed where you get fuel from? Can you hear the engine knocking? What do you mean that the 'check caught fire'? Stale fuel can create all sorts of issues, but you need to get to the bottom of the fault code issue to properly guide you with a diagnosis.

Can you actually explain to me, why the motor is having a hard time starting and it takes a lot of cranking to start? Like if the tank is just half full, there is a lot of air in their anyways? Or is that air in their compressed to 3bars as well as the diesel in the line? I might have a similar issue, starting issues since more than a year, checked all, changed plugs and stuff, now just figured out that the pump was not properly installed and was definitely not sealed. Even though I am of course repairing it now and still dont know the final outcome - I just dont get the physics behind. Would be happy, if you could elaborate! Greetings from Austria (working on a Peugeot Boxer)
@MiracleMAX27 күн бұрын
Hi to Austria! This vehicle was a petrol GDI engine, but the principle is the same for the common rail diesel. A low pressure pump brings fuel from the tank to the high pressure pump located on the engine to raise the pressure to the amount required to run the engine. Air is compressible, whereas liquid is not. One of the main enemies of any hydraulic system is air lock - air in the line. You have to purge the air from the system, similar to the brakes on your vehicle before you getting any solid brakes. That's the reason for long cranking in the case of the Audi in the video. The accumulator was located in the fuel module as was the regulator. Originally the accumulator leaked, therefore there was not enough residual pressure to help start the engine quickly. The pump had to start at 0 pressure, then build up to the correct pressure to feed the high pressure pump. Also due to a faulty new module, the pressure regulator leaked and therefore created the same issue. As a rule, a CRD engine will require about 220 bar to start. The low pressure should be approx 3 bar to feed the high pressure pump, with no air in the line. What pressure do you have on the low pressure side? What pressure do you have at the fuel rail on the scan tool? Have you checked for air leaks? You could use a clear hose on a line going to the high pressure pump & check for air, similar to what I showed on this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pKqSYMyUtcy8n6c.html. Have you carried out a injector feedback test?

Yes, unless fitted by the factory, you should keep the original size tyres, otherwise it can mess with your cruise control, traction control and ABS. I couldn't read you comment fully as a section just has a list of numbers. How long have you had the cruise problem? Does it coincide with the installation of the tyres?
@lbackhausen1Ай бұрын
@@MiracleMAX Hi, I bought the car about a month ago, with the malfunction and the wheels / tyres. I think the previous owner gave up on fixing it. The fault is totally repeatable... as soon as i speed up to 30klms an hour every time to cruise cancels. The rear is 245 / 35RZ19 and the front is 235 / 35 RZ 19. The rear wheels see like very deep dish so might have a fair offset. The rear tyres seem like they are stretched onto the rim as well so the rim may be too wide also.

Thanks for that Max - little tip for those who just have a clogged filter sock but the pump is fine - amayama has replacement socks for $30. Typically takes a few weeks to arrive where I am (NZ), so in the meantime, you can take the sock off, give it a good soak in some clean fuel, brush out what you can with a toothbrush, and give it a good blast with some compressed air. Cleans it up enough to last until the spare part arrives, and doesn't require full disassembly.
