Argh, once again your video didn't show up by default, but glad you are back with another one. I struggle quite a bit getting the racing line for this one, so I had to compromise for that with AT (I still couldn't handle too many variables on a track that I am not familiar with). Currently sitting on a mid-1:29 and within top 8% ranking

@@PM10Racing Wasn't too bad on my end, and I finally managed a gold on what I define as a super hard TT, which is one that has less than 5% players getting gold, and I did it at Nordschleife a few weeks ago with a top 2% worldwide ranking. For context, I actually spent a long time (like several hundreds of laps) learning the track, and historically, I used to be in the front end of the ranking there anyway (which isn't the case for many other tracks), it's just that I wasn't able to squeeze into gold zone with a non-FF car until this time. I had to do it on AT however. As the real world F1 is coming to Austria next week, I am expecting a TT at the RB Ring this coming THU.

Welcome back! Have been waiting for your Jaguar TT but it's okay to take a break once a while. Other than the fact that this is a no-shift car (which the AT drivers will be happy with), it's very boring to drive given how understeering it gets even on RM tyres. Also I kind of understand what you are doing around some corners, which is essentially going the "V-shaped" line by maximizing the straight-line acceleration. As for myself, I am sitting on a lower 1:36, 7% world ranking +/-

Well done mate. I agree without shifting gears it feels a bit dull. I don’t know why they bother with these electric cars they aren’t really all that much fun. @@PM10Racing Thanks mate. Suzuka is more of a torture than fun TBH...... Thank you as always for the lap guides, they help a lot. One thing I did notice in some of the replays I watched is that the left side of the track on the main straight falls away, it's not a straight line. If you hold the wheel straight instead of following the left side of the track, it'll take you to the middle of the track around the line, but back near the outside of the track at turn 1. it's worth about 0.015. Not a whole lot, but it's easy time.
@PM10Racing
@PM10Racing 3 ай бұрын
I completely forgot to mention this in my video. I try to angle the car around that kink in the straight so I can use the entirety of the kerb on the left prior to turning in for T1 therefore carrying a touch more speed. I don’t know whether it’s worth any more time or not but it’s just something that I do to maximise the track usage.

As you may remember, I don't normally drive on MT, but this is yet another one I made an exception. I started out with AT as usual to learn the line, and this track always post a challenge to me as it is so wide and has a bit less predictable at the last sector as well. Nevertheless, my best AT time is low 1:33.7, and then noticing that I can squeeze a few km/h out of the car on the long straight by using MT, I have no doubt in trying and after ironing out some of the blemishes, I got a high 1.33.3. Separately, it would have been interesting if you could make a guide for last week but I think it's clear why a lot of people aren't doing it LOL, and since I have a lot more time left to play last week, I went back to the Nurburgring Circuit Experience and do it on MT and got gold for the first time, and eventually beat my best AT time with a sub-6:33. I think I could at least drive MT now as long as the track is one that I am familiar with for a certain group of cars or if MT gives better straight line speed by short shifting or getting every rev out of the engine.
@PM10Racing
@PM10Racing 3 ай бұрын
I think that’s a good tactic, learn the lines with AT so you can focus on getting g the lines right and then bring the MT element into it later. Very smart. Last weeks challenge was follow the hello line and don’t take your foot off the gas. It really sure how I could add any value to it so didn’t think it would be beneficial to make a video on it. Well done on the Nurburgring circuit experience. I do like that circuit

That’s a great time mate well done. I really struggled on this one for some reason. I’m not the most comfortable in these old timey zero downforce crap tyres and brakes cars but it’s the same for everyone. Probably need to actually practice my technique more often. Really strange my videos aren’t showing up for you naturally. The last 3 videos of mine have all been really low views and extremely low on impressions compared the ones before it so I wonder if there is something going on behind the scenes at YT 🤔. I’m close to the monetisation threshold so I hope they are not trying to keep me suppressed (probably not this but it feels like it’s on purpose). On another note, did you like the full speed lap at the end ? Was it beneficial and should I keep it? Cheers
@stormmeansnowork
@stormmeansnowork 4 ай бұрын
@@PM10Racing Having a full lap at the end is always helpful as it makes the whole lap look more coherent. This will be particularly helpful for longer or more windy tracks. The only thing is that you need to choose one driving view to play it, and I would prefer the 3rd person view more than the driver's 1st person view, but this is probably because I am driving in the bonnet view. The only advantage for the driver's view is that it shows your steering a lot more clearly, yet I am not sure if it may actually be helpful to see that. For a 3rd person view, it will be more helpful with the line observation. As to the TV camera view that you added in as a picture in picture, I don't think that makes any difference in terms of us learning the track, so it may not be worthwhile spending time on it. I am not using YT so there's little I can help on guessing the reason, but if my blind guesses -- completely blind guesses, I stress -- is that the channels (on GT 7) that shows up more naturally on my screen are usually the ones that do a lot more GT7 videos on things like daily races or even live streams. As far as I know, Arkeys at least do the daily races alongside the Online TT lap guides with some occasional live streams, whereas Rory focuses more on daily races these days, if my impression is accurate. Frankly, I don't watch those as I don't have time and interest for daily races. I also noticed a channel by the name "widowmaker who" and he does a lot of GT7 stuff on Circuit Experience, Licenses and grinding, but his channel or videos doesn't show up by default either, and his community is comparatively small as well. Another observation is that, as I recently clicked on a Japanese GT7 channel on the Le Mans lap guide, it started showing up on my screen automatically, and this guy is doing live stream too. Of course this is just my observation and YT certainly recommended a lot of other non-GT7 stuff to me as well, so I could only hopeful this helps.

I'm sitting on a high 4:21 now, let's see if I can get under 4:20 (I think possible but may take some careful observation of my own driving to pick out my shortcomings in the driving line). Separately, I still don't get why this car needs a short shift to bring out the best performance, any simple answers......?
@PM10Racing
@PM10Racing 4 ай бұрын
I'm glad my video finds you naturally rather than having to work for it ! Shifting around 6500 rpm makes the best use of the torque / power band of the car. If you look at the detailed settings from the car settings menu and look at the curve you see how the power drops off dramatically after 6500 rpm so revving it out is a waste. Plus the torque curve is quite flat so you can get away with shifting earlier to take advantage of this. You don't want to bog down though so you cant just blindly upshift through every turn, you need to make sure you are carrying enough speed for that gear. Good luck with it mate !

@@PM10Racing *Deep breathe* I just got into a mid-4:20 after trying some tricks and then practising. Firstly, I switched the TCS from 1 to 0. The car feels quite different on acceleration and it understeers quite a lot than when it was 1 (even though the TCS was not shown to be kicking in at 1). It took 150km to get used to, and then as I said, it's a matter of getting the driving line right in my case - or at least it's comparatively pointless for me to practice short shifting without first getting my line right, and this was a lot of work. Often times when I watch all these guides of you people, I forgot you are doing it in MT on a higher gear for a number of corners and forgetting this at Le Mans can be particularly punishing as it would understeer give me a bad line for many of the S corners, which affects the exit speed and overall lap time. After getting the throttle and line right, I finally got to where I am with still be a bit of blemishes to iron out. A sub-4:20 is certainly possible, even on AT, but it will take a lot of practice......

I wonder if the lap was longer the gold stats would still be the same. Well done mate should be a comfortable 2m for you 👍🏼

@@PM10Racing Your video usually show up within hours of publishing but just not this time (and one other player has indeed delayed his publishing so I didn't bother to look). It started out quite hard for me, but once I know how much I can brake the car at turn 1 and how to get around turn 4 and the last corner, it's just easy.

Sounds like you’ve nailed it mate. T1 is tricky. Carrying momentum is what you need with these low powered cars

This challenge is surprisingly fun to drive. I'm in the mid 1:19s and that should be enough for gold, too. Great laptime from you - well done!

Mid 19s is a great lap well done mate. This track surprised me a bit. Wouldn’t fancy doing a full grid race here but it’s a lot of fun for time trialling. Need good car control on this challenge.
