I don’t watch the Euro leagues much, so that format didn’t interest me. I’ve gotten into the Liga MX after seeing their teams so much, so I like this format. It doesn’t need to be serious though. I’d like to have both sides having a good time in a high scoring affair. MLS always had something to prove, but there isn’t much that separates the leagues anymore, so just treat it as a goodwill match between the two leagues. I like the idea of using the old MLS PK format.

Gressel was the one who passed it to Suarez on the first goal. It was a great idea from Gressel too--putting that type of pace on the ball.

I don’t know man two-legged wasn’t popular when we did do it. The league has grown much since then and might be able to be exciting. But even with the “World Cup” style after the group stage, it’s knockout rounds. And honestly I think it’s everyone’s favorite flavor of playoffs for MLS. I say keep it the same but with 8 teams or do the WC style (but group stage should be 3 games not 6). WC style would give us 19 games. What they really need to do is provide salary cap or a 4th DP.

same ole excuses - same ole results. i understand the challenges, but i dont see any improvement since the 3-0 loss to colorado in game #2...especially on the road.
