Anyone ever tell you that you have some similarities to Billy Bob Thornton? He is from south Texas so the accent makes sense

Seriously cool video. I use my Roland AX to play bass and it sounds fabulous. It's quite large though and I am consideing investing in the Korg.

The crucial fact why the synthex didn't catch on is putting a chorus on a high end synth at that time , it is admitting that it sounded to flat without , just do an a/b test against a prophet of same 1981 with the chorus off on the synthex , dco was no match against the chorussy sound of real vco's.

Actually the Marvin Gaye 808 was owned by Belgian session musician Tars Lootens who brought it in from Japan ( in a towel)as one of the very first , the pattern on sexual healing was his too but he wasn't credited , the keys are Jupiter 8 and the album was recorded at Ohain Belgium.

Hi Syntaur. My JDXI has another weird issue. The volume seems to gradually decrease over time to 0 even when the knob isn’t moving. When I touch the knob it jumps back to whatever volume it is supposed to be at and the decreases again. Any idea what might cause that? I am thinking it’s the pot or something to do with another component such as the PCB. I took it apart and put it back together about a dozen times trying to fix the key bed and was finally able to get everything working again but I basically can’t use the synth because of this!

the chemistry between these two is brutal. why is the mexico antagonizing the huwhite so much? like why ask about the usefullness of reset? we want the osc to reset so it begins at the same phase each time. it may sound similar without at times, that doesnt discount it's utility "thats interesting" yeah i guess you win, captain devil's advocate

As I understand, a CP-30 was used on "Kiss On My List" - one of my all time favorite keyboard sounds, whatever it was. Any chance a CP-35 can sound like that?

Will ya'll ever be getting more power supplies in for these (specifically the metal version)? I bought one used from someone on Reverb but I wanted to check in case I need a backup or I don't receive the one I ordered. Thanks! Great videos on the ESQ-1 btw!

Such fetishisation - aren't we largely pretty bored of FM sounds now? Decades of hearing them literally everywhere, from DX7 to arcade machines, PC sound cards, sega genesis, etc. IDK this is crazy; nothing new to hear here, just boys and (tired sounding) toys

Literally tens - even hundreds - of millions of very similar sounding FM synth chips manufactured. To say "Oh the DX1 is something wildly special" is just crazy. Listen to it. Ain't nothing special

I COMPARED CHERRY AUDIOS VERSION WITH THE SAMPLED ELKA FROM UVI AND IN THE FAMOUS JARRE LASER HARP PRESET THE ONLY DIFFERENCE I HEARD WAS IN THE HIGHEST OCTAVES THE CHERRY AUDIO VERSION LACKED ATTACK OR BITE WHILE THE UVI VERSION HAD A NICE BITE OR ATTACK THAT MADE IT SOUND MORE REALISTIC ...

Great changes you've made to the Polysix but I would lose the King Gismo logo. The Polysix has excellent styling, and that just spoils it .
